    • The NCAA is usually too busy protecting more precious creatures such as those zebras. Players? Not so much.

  1. Wow if the kid was a coach he’d been fined for his actions. Ask Harbaugh who 10k lighter in the wallet for telling the truth about the refs.

      • I figured as much, but it doesn’t fix the problem of bad refs costing a game. I guess a league official would argue that the game shouldn’t hinge on one play….but it did.

    • You can be sure the ND PR department wrote this for Tillery and that if he didn’t send this out then he would be kicked off the team.

  2. The sad part is ,this is called a real apology. I’m 73. It would not be considered a real apology for a young man in 1961. Back then a real apology took into account there was a thought process that took place before the action. and one needed to ask for forgiveness, because humans, being self centered sinned often. Basically he excuses himself ,for being what he calls unusual or out of character conduct..That is not asking to be forgiven and admitting he has a problem.Nobody today wants to admit ,the old book of the 70’s ‘whatever happened to sin’ is still applicable today.

  3. The Ncaa needs to put him and nd on notice that if any thing like this happens again they will need to forfeit all games he played.

  4. I did not seen any apology from Scott’s blog. All I saw was a name and a twitter account. Is the twitter supposed to represent an apology? if so, I don’t understand this twitter apology stuff.

    • It linked to a picture which contained his apology, probably because it was more than the Twitter character limit. Here’s the text of his apology:

“I want to take full responsibility for my actions on Saturday. I am truly sorry. I acted in a way that was out of character for me. What I displayed in those two instances were completely unbecoming and not indicative of the kind of player or person I am. My actions in those two instances do not represent what my family or Notre Dame has molded me to be. I want to especially apologize to Aca’Cedric, Zach, their families and anyone else affected by what I did. I assure you I will learn and grow from this moment and become a better man because of it.”

  5. Fellow Trojan Fans: he manned up and apologized for his despicable actions. The two Trojans who were directly affected by his actions have accepted his apology. It is time for us to move on. We have a bowl game to prepare for.

    FIGHT ON!!!

  6. Actually, his apology was probably not written by himself for sure. The fact that Cedric and Banner accepted it pretty much makes what we think unimportant. Dead issue now. But I still think it may add a little drama to next years game.

  7. Let’s hope he learns from this and becomes a better person, we all make mistakes especially when we were young, but ND should have him on a very short leash from here on out.

  8. I want to know who at ND wrote it. It is too sanitized and perfect to wear it sounds like a press release. The only mistake was that they did not mention their last name with the first. If he wrote it, then someone else edited the release.
