  1. The current playoff system has its flaws and the ranking criteria varies in importance from voter to voter. I am of the mind that SC should not be in the top 4 when the current criteria is used. So, exclusive of the playoff–does anyone think SC is currently one of the top 4 teams in the country? Has their play over the past 2 months convinced you that they are a top team? I think AL & OSU are definitely better & I suspect MI is. Outside of those teams I think SC can play with anyone. Outside of AL there is not a “perfect ” team & everyone can be beaten by anyone at any time.

    • Good question…Should the playoff be for the 4 hottest teams? How would you determine that?

    • I cannot see OSU is that good. How can they go over Penn St if Penn wins the Big10 title. What is the point of having a conference championship. They squeeked over MI, Penn beat them, they are suspect at QB and the pass game is miserable. Not pushing for USC in top 4, but an honest vote by the committee.

      • Lets say all of your points about OSU are correct-even so there is no way a 3 loss team is going to get into the playoff & nor should they. No matter how you rank the criteria for selecting the 4 playoff teams ( wins against top 25, strength of schedule, eye test, etc.) , a 3 loss team cannot go ahead of a 1 loss team and almost every 2 loss team. Putting a team in the playoff is different than saying who the best 4 teams are right now. If the sole criteria is who is the best 4–SC is in the argument. In my mind no worse than 5.

      • Everyone is paralyzed by the W-L record, but if OSU gets into the playoffs without winning their conf. so should USC.

  2. Adoree Jackson and Donnell Pumphrey should be sitting in the front row of the Downtown Athletic Club on December 12th. Whether either one wins depends on the politics/bias of the voting.

  3. Msnbc was running a ad for the last three games at the Coli (on Mon 28th) A little late, Larry.
