A Word On Washington

Just to be clear, if I’m skeptical of USC with three losses being pushed by pundits for the College Football Playoff, I’m no fan of Washington going either. Who have the Huskies beaten? Not USC. Their big win is over Washington State in Pullman. They beat Idaho and Portland State and Rutgers. And feasted on lots of bad Pac-12 teams.

  1. Everyone feasted on bad teams, look at the SEC and Big10. So what I am reading is that strength of schedule is your primary thing to consider for the playoffs.

    • Most people Agree Bama is the best team in the country and they play a FCS team at home in November every year.

  2. For once, I agree with you Scott. Washington has a notorious weak schedule. and yes, with 3 losses SC blew their chance at the playoff but that being said they had a great year.

    • Agree whole heartedly with Mr. Wolf on his disgust with UW and their schedule. Rutgers gives up 78 pts. to Michigan and 70 to Ohio St. Idaho and Portland St. are a joke on the football field. USC beats both Colorado and UW at least. Really have to throw out the Bama game while everyone else was too chicken to play them. Sorry to root for UW to help the Trojans make the Rose Bowl this time.

    • Before Sam
      After Sam
Don’t conveniently leave that part out!
Be sure to include Btech scores!

    • Stanford nine wins in a row vs. UCLA. USC 36-UClownsLostAgain 14. Once again UCLA is picked to do something big, like win the Pac-12 South, and they spit the bit. It must be in their DNA. As Paul Finebaum stated, “Let me know when UCLA wins a big game.” 4-8 and still without an OC.

      • The poor little gutties are deserving of our pity. Maybe when they finally get a 100 yd practice field they’ll turn it all around. Ya think?

      • And I’ll let you know when UCLA loses 52 – 6 after 10,000 bozo u Rah-Rah’s predicted a “Shock the world” upset. Fireball on the house!

Let’s see, the bozo scored two 40 + FG’s – one of which occurred when bozo u was down 38 points.

        Oh yeah and no TD’s.

          • Wow that hurts. Understand the Dukee Bowl has issued bozo u a game invitation; they have bozo u matched with a D-3 cupcake.

          • Whine on FOtV. Just like you did when bozo u was 1 – 3 and still reeling from that monumental Alabama 52 – 6 humiliation.

Kindly remind me who you demanded bozo u hire to replace Helton at any cost. So easy for you to do since those any cost $$$$’s weren’t coming from your shallow pockets.

      • You mean Holiday Bowl bound. I’m sure you’re one the half-wit Rah-Rah’s that predicted bozo u would upset Alabama.

I’m also sure blog regulars didn’t hear from you again until after the 5th bozo u game.

        • Squatter, get back to work. You have only earned a $1.50 today from collecting bottles and cans. Don’t forget your pizza delivery job starting at 4 pm.

          • FOtV I’m not the UCLA AD. If I was, Mora would now be kicking a can down the 405 and unemployed.

Over on BG those half-wits worship Mora and assume Jimmy Ball will improve. LOL!

    • Poor Owns. You must be back on the bottle. Who could blame you after the 4-8 power performance from Bruin Nation. I heard Rosen is already started to petition the NCAA to allow him to go pro cause he cant take another year of Bruin power football.

      • No kidding Ricky, I’m surprised you have time to fantasize about UCLA FB, when you spend the majority of your time doing you brown nose seal tricks on Hollywood Blvd. where “Everybody’s a dreamer and everybody’s a star.”

    • Must’ve been a rough couple weeks in the basement. I hear it gets cold down there this time of year and mom won’t even spring for a space heater.

      • Not at all. My mansion isn’t basement equipped.

Besides I’ve been on vacation in the Seychelles brushing up on dark skinned ladies that whisper French in your ear.

          • Squatter, your two story cardboard box which is located under the 605 fwy is not a mansion. Please return to reality. Also, we know you are lying about the island and the French ladies. You are geographically challenged and you probably think Cerritos is the isle of beauty. Nice try.

      • Last time I checked, Achilles was doing donuts with your dead body tied to his chariot’s rear end.

          • UCLA lives to fight another day, meanwhile you’re Hector the dead body tied to the back of Achilles drifting chariot.

I didn’t notice it before but Hector body has something stuck in his mouth.

          • Do you consider what UGLY puts on the field “fight”? LOL. Do you really think UGLY could bring in someone better than “Mora the same”?

Gutties will always be Pac-doormats with occasional passable seasons.

          • Absolutely, to your first question FOtV, and UCLA has won 3 out 5 of the last rivalry games in spite of Jimmy Ball.

          • The best the gutties could do were win a few head-to-heads while USC was down. Prime opportunity for the gutties to take over and establish themselves, yet they weren’t up for it. Pathetic.

          • When UCLA loses ugly the trolls don’t make excuses. UCLA wins or loses with what they put on field – no excuses tolerated.

Over at bozo u, there’s alway 50 to 75 excuses why bozo u lost a FB game.

In fact bozo u never loses FB games, because there’s always extenuating circumstances. SUCC never SUCCs as it were.

            Why was Paulie Hackett fired?

          • Only the last 2 years matter in sports.

But if we want to look back to 1999-2011, it was SC winning 12 out of 13. Since 1999 it has been SC 14
            SUCLA 4

    • Are you misspelling Stanford on purpose, or do you really not know how to spell the school’s name?

  3. WA has the 17th best Strength of Schedule and has 1 loss…what else did you want from them? Did they know Rutgers would be as bad as they are when they scheduled the game? 2011 – Rutgers was 9-4. 2012 – Rutgers, 9-4. That’s about when they scheduled the game.

    • The CFB committee has stated they have an issue with the WA strength of schedule Where did you see their ranking was 17?

  4. When you have 2-programs who were middle of the road (Washington) and a total mess (Colorado) just 2-years ago and, playing for the conference championship? Well yeah, there’s a clue there somewhere the conference is not very good right now. Just goes to show you what most of the PAC-12 presidents think of college football other than making a quick easy buck.

  5. A word on Michigan. They played Hawaii and UCF and Colorado out of conference all at home. They where behind Colorado until QB got hurt. They lost to Iowa on Nov 12. Iowa got beat by North Dakota state. You can play that game with most of the top 15 teams.

  6. Any team that looses by a game by over forty points does not belong in the final four discussion. I agree with you Scott.

  7. The thing is it is good for a PAC 12 team to get somewhere in the playoff. It makes the playoff look unbiased. (which we all know ain’t true) So what if they get blown out of the bowl game they will blame it on a bad hotel or something else. I only watch one bowl game on purpose the rest is just noise.

    • I’m a USC fan, but like your avatar. That was fun watching Donahue go up against Bubba Smith and Harold Lucas in 1966 Rose Bowl. I think he was barely 200lbs then.

      • I know it is easy to make this mistake. But it was the 1966 season and the 1967 Rose Bowl that SUCLA upset Michigan St. I actually was a bruin fan in those days, and I will always cherish that game.

    • Yeah, too bad for the huskies that they missed the mighty bruins. I will be laughing very hard for a very long time on that one. Knowing ucla, they should have won the game even the score would have been 55-17, Washington. Next year, the Ducks and Huskies will definitely have to watch out for the bruins. Put a $1,000 on the both huskies and ducks and take the points. You will win.

  8. If Washington wins they will probably go to the CFP. But, like you the committee is hesitant on sending Washington to the CFP. Like I said last night it’s because of Idaho and Portland St. It’s one thing to lose to FBS teams. But it’s another to schedule FCS teams and expect it to mean something.

  9. But Washington hammered a lot of opponents lie Oregon, Stanford, Wash St. 70 pts on Oregon, 44 on Stanford. There schedule was made when Rutgers was pretty good out of the Big Ten. We need to be careful with this argument as we go forward, have you looked at our future schedules..

  10. There’s nobody out there that’s done better, Washington , and USC beat most of the teams in front of them, and shouldn’t be penalized because some of their opponents showed up weak, this season. Let’s face it, half the PAC 12 plays Sissy, garbage type of football , but the schools that don’t are competitive, and can hold their own in the playoffs
