USC Morning Buzz: Rose Bowl For Trojans? Thorns For The Pac-12

wash-pac-12When I said the the Pac-12 title game was the JV game, I wasn’t kidding. What kind of hot mess was that post-game celebration? Fox broadcaster Rob Stone calls the game’s MVP “Tyler” Rapp instead of Taylor Rapp. At least Stone never gets the European soccer players wrong. Then Larry Scott calls Washington the “2006” champs. Hello Larry?

And there was that punt in the first half that had to be kicked again because Fox wasn’t even showing the game. The attendance was 47,118. Perhaps not bad for a Friday night game. Do you think Nick Saban is worried about facing Washington?

  1. Let The Dogs celebrate all they want now, because it’ll surely be their last in this season. Bama will make little miniature poodles out of them in the PO. And as for SC? Put us in the Rose Bowl, and we’ll take care of the rest! Fight On!!!

  2. Wherever Colorado is playing I am not watching. I loved last night’s game only because of the ramifications for SC possibly going to the Rose Bowl. But Colorado and Roses?– more like lemons.

    • Watch Colorado play? They’ll have to pay me rather handsomely to make me do that. lol.

  3. Nick Saban is not concerned about playing any college football team, because you win games at the line of scrimmage , and nothing compares to what Alabama has.

    • Right on Fred! Theres Bama then a steep drop off from there. Petersen was a great choice for Washington though! Hes done grewt in only three years and the offense is still young with mostly Sophomores . He also red shirted Sean Mc Grew who was a California Player of the year last year at running back.unlike Sark Petersen values the trenches not only skilled positions in recruiting

      • Poor ucla. You little gutties have Cheater Klemm for an OL coach and your OL stinks to high heaven even though Klemm’s on a show cause order and Mora still keeps him on staff. Nobody ever accused The Chimp of having any brains or ethics.

Typical bruins who can’t get out of their own way even though you’re still cheating to get there.

And now SC’s likely headed back to the Rose Bowl (yet again), the game your crappy team is barred from ever playing in because your’e never good enough.

USC has two all-Conference first team OT’s this year, the only team with that claim. Those guys play in the trenches little gutty boy. You should learn your positions better.

      • Uh, USC just beat the crap out of UW and Petersen with many of Sark’s players. Duh.

Our DL totally shut down the Huskies with physical football. Sark recruit Darnold completely out played UW’s Browning, who looked horrible again last night.

Do you even watch college games? Oh, I forgot. You little gutty fans have no reason to pay attention to college football, so you come here pretending you’re a USC fan because you’re ashamed to be a crappy bruin. Fight On baby bruin! We own you.

        • Jack, you obviously dont know much about UW. Not many players on roster from Sark Days . Most of the relevant players are Petersen recruits

          • It’s Sark’s players at USC idiot, you know, the place where Darnold signed. You really take the cake for one of the stupidest little gutty Trolls ever. What did your handle used to be, besides dolt?

  4. Yes but he won’t be facing Washington in the first game. Washington will move up to 3. Washington’s schedule was back loaded. Now they just torched the 8 ranked team. The committee has its eye on the huskies and trust there going like what they just witnessed. 12 and 1 their only loss is to a team that will be ranked 8th plus going to the Rosebowl.

    • Who are they going to jump in the rankings? OSU and Clemson will have one loss each also unless there is an upset. Colorado is going to drop below Big 10 champ and
Oklahoma – St. winner at least, and hopefully USC. Anything possible with uninformed voters as the election proved.

      • Wikileaks showed that anything is possible with corrupt liberals in positions of power and the media. Liberal ESPN is pushing the narrative that Michigan is in and UW is out of the playoff this morning on Game Day so that means the Huskies would be in the Rose Bowl instead of USC.

      • Ohio State could drop due to not being a Conference Champion. Clemson may drop if they are shaky tonight. But I doubt that the Committee will have the guts to pit an Eastern Team against Alabama in the 1st Round, so expect Washington-Alabama.

        • I hate the idea that they have to place teams by how they will rate on tv. Sure takes something away from the game I think.

      • Well Clemson is the reason. If they win, if? Also the voters were informed that’s why the best candidate won! You lost, get over it. Move on, you and all the liberals. Move on and stop crying.

        • He simply cannot handle the truth, typical liberal – absolutely no knowledge or sense of history. It’s the result of not attending school or not paying attention after the fifth grade.

  5. I will not watch the Rose Bowl if Colorado makes it there. Them vs. either Penn St. or Wisconsin will be a dud for the Granddaddy of the Bowls. Trojans beat them, and UW so what else does the committee want to make a proper decision. Even the Huskies do not deserve a spot in the playoffs with OOC games vs. Rutgers, Portland St. and San Jose St. on their resume. My lady partner and son-in-law are from Alabama originally. His father played w/ Joe Namath for three years as starting LT. Roll Tide!

    • The playoff committee only selects the top 4 and lays out their final remaining 21 teams. The Rose Bowl committee makes the choice for the game, as does the Cotton Bowl committee for their game. If WA is not a top 4, look for them in the RB.

      • If Michigan or Ohio St are in the playoffs I will not watch. Must win your division and conference to play for National Championship.

        • Right now WA is better than 50/50 to land in top 4. That would put USC in the RB against the Big10 champ, WI or Penn st. Chances of CO going to RB are now slim.

  6. It will come down to a decision of brand, history and tradition in putting USC in Pasadena.. Not to mention the advertisers and TRBC wanting to get their monies worth.. Colrado racked up a total of 140 yards, while USC hits the mark at 3x’s that .. Plus we have a huge national following! Last nights loss will move USC up and the Buffs down in the teens!

  7. Everyone sounds like WA is going to finish in top 4. NOT SO FAST!
There is so much pressure for MI to be in, and if Clemson wins it going to be pretty iffy for WA. If that is the case, WA to RB, USC goes elsewhere. Cotton? Alamo? We know tomorrow.

    • The CFPC wants exposure and therefore will not mess with a Pac 12 team in the mix for many reasons.. Washington like Bama are safe bets to be two of the four teams .. Michigan, Clemson, OSU and Oklahoma have to work for it.

      • ESPN is as corrupt as DC. How do you call someone National Champs when they couldn’t win their division or conference.

    • WA is ranked 4 right now. They just won their conf champ by 31. MI is ranked 5 and sitting at home with no more games to play. How is there any possible way for them to move ahead of WA?

      • I want USC in the RB, but the media is politicking for MI. How that will influence the committee who knows. I agree MI is not a top 4 team, no way, but I do not vote. Need to pull for Clemson to lose. In the end I don’t even like OSU in there.

        • UW has it made. They’re in. One loss to high-ranked USC and they won the conference. MICH lost twice, including to bootlick IOWA. Plus they missed the Conf championship game. No contest. UW wins here hands down.

          • Don’t forget the Strength of Schedule:
            1. Alabama (7)
            2. Ohio State (15)
            3. Clemson (47)
            4. Washington (60)
            5. Michigan (33)
            6. Wisconsin (20)
            7. Penn State (39)
            8. Colorado (23)
            9. Oklahoma (18)
            10. Oklahoma State (59)
            11. USC (5)
            12. Florida State (13)
            13. Louisville (66)
            14. Auburn (17)
            15. Florida (50)

A factor used by the playoff committee.
            Hope you are right.

          • I just think people are making this overly complicated because the media wants it that way to attract interest and viewership.

If someone can explain to me how idle, non-conf winner, 2-loss MICH can leadfrog conf champ UW, which just destroyed CU, I’ll listen. But nobody can make any sensible argument for that, and that’s because UW is already officially in, and maybe higher than 4.

MICH’s only shot is now if CLEM loses, also highly improbable. MICH will be the odd-man out this year because they don’t have a decent QB and blew the OHIO ST game. I’ll bet we face them in the RB, though PSU or WIS would also be very good opponents.

          • I would love to play Harbaugh’s Meat Chickens. Reignite “What’s your deal”. Cocky asshole! But admittedly a good coach. #FightOn!

          • I think it’ll be USC vs Penn State. That’s a great consolation for them and they won’t make the Playoff.

Great matchup. They have a real tough, physical rep, so those who doubt USC’s physicality can see if USC’s just a finesse team or not.

I think PSU’s defense is very vulnerable. Would love to see Darnold unleash himself on the Nits.

  8. Well it was obvious that the best team in the Pac-12 did not play in that game last night, but we only have ourselves to blame. Hopefully this turnaround is real and next year there will be no hoping some other team will win.

    • Ajax definitely deserves a trip to NY over Mr. Browning, though neither deserves to win it. I did love the “oops touchdown” — just trying to throw the ball away.

  9. Things are shaping up very nicely for USC roses unless the PO and RB Committees decide to put a clearly inferior CU team into Pasadena on Jan. 2.

Strangely, JuJu’s decision to slide into the ground instead of easily take it into the end zone against CU may come back to haunt USC. We’ll know tomorrow morning whether USC gets another trip back to our home away from home.

  10. The SEC Champ game will be just as bad. But at least they play it on Saturday afternoon.

    • Blogger just learned it thought he would start using it. Kind of like the liberals using the term alt-right, it’s new and makes them sound like they are smart.

      • Uh…ok, smart guy. The term was created by white nationalists/supremacists, such as Richard Spencer to describe their movement. I guess conservatives using the term are just trying to “sound like they are smart” too. Ha!
        You don’t make sense, son.
        Joke.

        • You alt-left need to get over your butt-hurt at losing the election and screaming racism like the children you are.. You are the joke, son. At least your very very bad November is over.

  11. I don’t know if it is worth my time commenting on a game we had nothing to do with but it is clear that the system doesn’t work. I don’t have a fix so I guess I’ll shut up.

  12. Huskies are an above average team but they are not great. And that’s just it. What team outside of Roll Tide is truly great?
It’s still a beauty pageant and a redistribution of bowl cash.
The four best teams what a crock.

I’m happy for the Buffalo’s good season but they ain’t all that either…

The Trojans are the best team out west. Bama in the South. Clemson back east and flip a coin oh the up north mid west…
    The big 12 is fraudulent…

    • I have been thinking the Big10 is a fraud. Only problem with the Big12 is they don’t allow teams to play defense.

      • Big 10 has more Sunday players than the big 12, that is my base line.
        More Billy’s and Joe’s…
Which is why the PAC 12 is stronger than the experts give them credit for…
But in the end the beauty pageant is to sell more beer and E.D. Pills in 30 second bites…

USC should be playing in the Arroyo Seco on January 2nd That would be epic!

But…greed wrapped in traditional will prevail…

        Football is fun!

  13. Colorado looked not too good last night. But Scott Jenkins of the RB committee believes that Colorado will go because Colorado hasn’t been here and believes that an out of town team without ever being at the RB is just as good as USC. All the RB wants is, to fill up the hotels and restaurants instead of tradition and an awesome game

  14. Hey bozo u Basketball junkies, UCLA clips #1 Kentucky 97 – 92 on National TV – that’s dos in a row.

Who’s bozo u playing tonight? Wait, who cares?

    #where’sshuckiebuggs

    • Nice win. Only 8 yr olds have basketball games at 9am. I know it was in Kentucky. I can see right through all of this…. UCLA has a good season loses in the Sweet 16. Then you’ll start to talk up Rosen and some new OC. Boom!!!!!!! SAM DARNOLD and Clay Helton are every Bruins worse nightmare and you know it. Helton is squeezing the life out of UCLA’S “great” three run era that Jimmy had to “build”. We’re in football season over here in Los Angeles buddy. Its only December 3rd and you are talking it up like last season already about bruin basketball. Meanwhile our players are busy getting fitted for tuxedos and suits because they have to go to award shows (ADOREEEEEEEEE). What time is it right now? Its SC is kicking the **** out of UCLA time again in Los Angeles.
Good start for Alturd, all is know you thong wearing cubbies better have our locker room clean and your **** out of there soon. That’s our Football stadium. Get the **** out….

    • Nice win for UCLA. It still doesn’t change the fact that you’re a complete and total moron. Now go lean the French fry machine, its you’re turn.

  15. Trying to watch the Baylor WVU game but that hack Papadakis’ sqreech makes it impossible.

  16. I don’t get it…. Larry Scott must be blinded by TV money or something. If everyone complains or laughs at the lateness of PAC-12 games, then why does the commissioner have this game on a Friday “night”?
Why doesn’t he demand a Saturday afternoon game, played where Oklahoma-Oklahoma St. played? Maybe a new commissioner needs to be…. wait a minute…. the PAC-12 presidents don’t care about ratings or college football with how most of them support their programs. Well, Larry, you picked the right bosses to work for.

    • Or when the SEC championship game is being played? It’s like the Pac 12 lets itself be punked. First it gives up the Rose Bowl to the BCS and now this.
