Wylan Free Decommits

Lynwood cornerback Wylan Free announced via twitter he was no longer committed to USC. Free had been offered by Utah, BYU, Utah State, Hawaii and Boise State before picking USC. So, one naturally wonders, whether he chose to decommit or was nudged elsewhere by the coaches?

  1. Sites that truly report on “Inside” recruiting movement, have anticipated this.Today having seen a current list of Interested,or silent commits ,USC needs many more spots than we have.It will be an excellent class.

    • We’ll see, still not sold on this bunch. If not for Darnold, Helton would be on his way to Houston to work for the Narcissist

  2. Second one to “de-commit” this week. They are making room for better players. My only issue is I wish we did not jump at all of these 3 star players so early.

    • Agree. It seems that these guys were probably seeing the writing on the wall. I’m not worried about offering too many guys and then letting certain ones know later in the game that their chances of PT are low with incoming commits. It’s part of the game.

  3. Great news for USC! Move the 3 star guy out, and make room for 4 star and 5 star athletes. This looks to me like a case of USC getting rid of Wylan Free instead of vice versa.

  4. Hopefully this is a sign that USC has higher ranked players interested in coming here. Best of luck to Wylan Free, who may have been nudged out to make room for the recruiting class.

  5. Mark this down…the first time this kid gets an interception, even if he is a backup and his only interception of his career, Wolf will post his…”USC let Wylan Free get away! How could they not lock up a kid that grew up in their own backyard?” Let’s wait a few years, bet he posts something like that..

  6. “nudged elsewhere by the coaches” !

    And seemingly that’s a good thing ?

And possibly a “very” good thing !!!
