You can check out site, Awful Announcing, to see how Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott said in the same day the Pac-12 Network has a bright future and he can also envision where it doesn’t exist because he sold off all the TV rights to other networks.

  1. Perhaps Larry Scott is on his way out. Anything is possible this year. He would sell his soul for a couple dollars, oh wait, he already did.

  2. Word on the street is that Lane Kiffin will be heading up the Pac 12 network and employ Sark as the very colorful commentator

  3. Sounds like Lane kiffin’s popularity is at an all time low, because the only school that wants him is Florida Atlantic. And as it turns out, he was willing to sign a Houston contract with a huge buyout, but the University just didn’t want him .

      • It may be his only choice, because it pays twice as much as the Florida Atlantic job . He should have gone after the SAN Jose State position, and take it to another level like Mike MacIntyer did . But I know Lane Kiffin knows deep down inside he doesn’t have the capability to do that, because he’s use to having everything handed to him

    • That’s only the HOU side of the story. I think you’re totally ignoring the other version, but that’s okay Fred. We know you hate the Kiffer, as many do. But none of us have the faintest idea what’s going on in his negotiations.

HOU’s blow-hard take it or leave account sounds to me like a big cover-up for the fact that the Kiffer always had big reservations about the HOU gig and didn’t want to get trapped there. Everyone always wants to leave there with any success.

The Kiffer’s done a lot more in his coaching career than Major Applewhite ever has. HOU took a big gamble with Applewhite. He obviously was a much easier catch, like Orgeron was for LSU. Anyone can see that.

      • I’m not ignoring anything, I’m simply reporting what I read . And according to the powers to be, lots of high school coaches in the Texas area don’t like Lane Kiffin, and I wonder why ? Lol

        • You believe everything you read?

The Kiffer always had reservations about the HOU job, but I guess you didn’t read that. It’s not like it’s some dream position. Lots of coaches can and will do a lot better.

Was it those same HS coaches who killed Charlie Strong, another guy you love who flunked big-time in Austin and couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag in the Big 12?

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a worse defense than the one coached by Strong at Texas. The Kiffer would have done a lot better than old Charlie, that’s for sure.

          • Well if kiffin is anything close to being the coach you, and his fan boys think he is, then I’m sure the rest of the power conference schools will continue to beat his door down.. smh He’s a great offensive coordinator when he has a talented roster, but a lousy head coach

          • I never said the Kiffer was a good head coach, so don’t make up stuff I never said. Why would power confs be beating down his door? You’re living in a dream world.

He’s obviously done much better than Strong at TEXAS, but that’s not saying much.

        • None of know the real story behind the Houston job. I’m not believing for a second HS coaches were the deciding factor. The early reports were they hung up on the buyout, Houston is tired of being a stepping stone.

    • We’re did you read that Fred? I have seen more than one story saying the buyout was the hang up. I also saw a story that said Applewhite got the job because he would sign Houston buy out demands.

        • That’s the story based on Tilman Fertitta. The same one that claims HS coaches made the difference. Belive it if you choose. They interviewed Miles and Kiffin, and only then considered Applewhite, I’m not buying it. The locals don’t either. Read the Paper City Magazine article.

  4. OT – USC loses yet another 3-star commit. This time it’s DT James Lynch, from Texas, I think.

Trojans must be really loaded up with higher expectations. Expect another killer LOI Day. Fight On!

    • I liked that kids size and potential but upgrades are on the way. When SC offered him Nick Saban followed with an offer and TCU Coach Garry Patterson said he would never invite USC and Alabama to his satellite camps ever again.

      • The writing’s on the wall. Gotta believe SC knows what it’s doing. People were real upset that SC seemed to be falling short of the 4-5 stars.

SC has been built on talent, not always coaching. It’s nice to have both, but I would just as soon keep the NFL flooded with talent like always. We are the NFL’s biggest pipeline and that’s a claim to fame that is worth having and best served by signing 4-5 star dudes.

        • I agree. Just a feeling but i think we may start to get the talent and the coaching. I am surprised with the play of Jackson and Marshall. Bradford has mad the difference there along with Pendergast. I think recruits are noticing this.
