Max Browne Pitt Update

browne-stanfordUSC QB Max Browne attended Pitt practice on Friday and is still visiting the football program through Sunday. Here’s the Panthers’ QB situation: It has only freshmen Thomas MacVittie and Ben DiNucci returning next year. Browne better make sure he is better than the duo because he cannot afford to be locked in a tough QB competition.

Browne currently has no other visits planned.

  1. Does this blog ever have an relevant USC information.. recruiting, injuries, practice updates, ROSE Bowl preparations ?????

“Inside (everything but) USC dot com”

Heck if Scout wasn’t going broke and out of business I might even read there.

Max Browne was dead to me the minute he announced his transfer and it even ticked me off he continued to play second string after that in lieu of Jalen Greene.

        • Wolf’s blog should be pronounced dead too. It should go to someone willing to put in just a little bit of work.

          • These guys all coddle their programs way too much. Of course they have to or they’d be cut off just like that. Listening to Abraham and Dan Weber say nothing for 45 mins is too boring for me to take. At least SW’s not a complete suck up like those guys are. Score one for Wolf.

Too bad we can’t get somebody who can handle the middle ground and give honest news that’s the real story, but they all have to stay away from this and kiss b*tt to have access.

I get more recruiting info now immediately and for free than I ever got for pay. Recruiting has become so oversaturated that 90% of the content isn’t worth listening to or reading IMHO.

          • Those podcasts will put you to sleep. It’s a bunch of questions that Abraham and Weber won’t answer with any honesty.

          • It’s just a waste of time for many of us and I know a lot of people who stopped subscribing. Plus some of their evaluations are just flat out remarkably bad. It’s all 7-7 and combine measureables now.

At first, the recruiting industry was really bad, unreliable and helter skelter. Then it rose up and became very interesting because many of us were just shocked this type of info was available in a large scale and not just regional.

But over the last several years, I’ve noticed a steep decline because I guess we’re supposed to be interested in vast repetitive generalities and predictable coverage.

I’d just rather wait until LOI Day and watch the results come in. Maybe that’s easy as an SC fan because we generally sign very good to exceptional classes.

          • I stopped subscribing in September. It was getting to the point where only Fridays were the only days something good woulf be in it. The message boards were putting out more info for free.

          • Will be interesting to see if the recruiting biz can evolve and survive. But their glory days are over IMHO. We have a much more sophisticated market now. All this pablum they dish out isn’t worth it anymore. Not sure what they do frankly. Times change.

          • There are three companies who battle it out. Scout, Rivals and 247. I don’t see all making it to next season.

          • See… if they turned a recruiting junkie like you off, they need to evaluate themselves and change with the times. They should seek consumers like you out to brainstorm on how to change their business model.

          • Don’t worry. They are survivors and there will always be a market for good information in the age of multimillion dollar athletes.

        • Ryan’s uscfootballDOTcom is a member of the Scout network. If was a Rivals site before.

          • This is the first I’ve heard about Scout going under. I have a subscription but I don’t go there much. I try to read the War Room on Fridays.

          • Lots of infighting and take over stuff at the top and some people weren’t getting paid. Not a lot of happy campers there. Massive discord is no way to steer a ship.

  2. USC Quarterback commit Jack Sears and San Clemente will be facing Edison tonight 7:30 in the Division 1-A Regionals

  3. There will be no happy ending to the Max Browne saga. MacVittie can play! Browne is doomed, he’s a Greek tragedy.
