Reggie Bush Needs Yards

bush-uclaIf former USC tailback Reggie Bush does not gain 3 yards against the Jets, he could become the first back since 1955 to have 10 or more carries in the season and finish with negative yards. Bush has rushed for minus-3 yards this season.

    • 11 years in the NFL. Won a super bowl. Hardly a bust. Too many injuries to stay on the field.

      • I’ll never feel sorry for Reggie. He’s done okay in the NFL, nothing great. SC served him very well, super stepping stone that we were.

Unfortunately, he and his family tooled USC to the bone. He turned out to be way too good to be true and the school paid all the prices for years and years while he skipped off to LaLa Land and never lifted a finger to help the school.

He’s only human. But he’s also a schmuck. I’m glad he had to return his Heisman. Busted Reggie.

          • He and his parents put USC on the biggest NCAA probation outside of the Death Penalty in college football history. What a schmuck. No class, no character. Glad his NFL career was mediocre.

          • You can’t blame it all on him. I love Pete Carroll, but Pete had to have known something was going on. And even if he didn’t he wanted all the celebrities and spotlight at practices. Pete Carroll allowed outsiders into Howard Jones field. Reggie was a kid. He made a huge mistake and will always have to live with it. It is what it is. But Pete is no angel in this one.

          • This isn’t about Pete. You just threw him in there. Nobody ever proved Pete knew about it, not even close, but Reggie did for sure and he refused to settle with the felons when he could have. But Reggie was a schmuck. Reggie wanted his money.

That old Reggie was a “kid” line doesn’t work with me. For a kid, he did more damage to USC than any player in the history of the school, by far.

There will always be apologists for Reggie, like you. But the truth is he’s the only Heisman winner to ever be fully disgraced, and he deserved it. Then he compounded the felony and let USC hang, refusing to co-op in the investigation. He could have done a lot to help USC, but he refused. It just made USC look dirty. That’s all on Reggie. The kid.

          • Do you honestly believe the head man had no idea? Jack you are one of the smartest guys. You cant really believe that.

          • The issue isn’t Pete, it’s McNair. And McNair will some day get the biggest settlement awarded to an asst coach from the NCAA in CFB history. Game ball.

That doesn’t affect how I feel about that selfish punk Reggie Bush. As I said, he was too good to be true. Amazing, people still talk to this very day about USC’s current depth problems, even as we head into the Rose Bowl for the umpteenth time. That’s all on Reggie.

I couldn’t care less whether he’s got to live with it every day. I care about all those USC kids who had to pay his prices for years. What a shame. He wasn’t worth it IMHO.

          • Bush was like that love-at-first-sight girl who’s for some reason immed available, great in bed, dresses nicely and is popular, smart and funny. Perfect. Two years later you know she’s bipolar, has herpes, has pumped one of your close friends and has her license revoked for multiple offense DUI.

Reggie was perfect for awhile there. Totally amazing. The best. Then he became the nightmare that never ended as USC sunk into prolonged oblivion on his coat tails.

We would have been damn good without him. Not as great, but really good. He wasn’t worth it. Because of him, we had to forfeit massive wins, players left en mass, we couldn’t play in bowls, 30 guys who wanted to come to USC couldn’t come and we were vilified nationwide as cheaters – all because of Reggie and his stupid, greedy parents. We didn’t even have enough players sometimes to even practice anything but paddycake,

            Wish we’d never met him.

          • Read the NCAA report, it doesn’t make a charge that Carroll knew. It hangs it on McNair. The NCAA will lose to McNair.

          • After all these years, there isn’t a link to Carroll right? Don’t want to rehash all the things wrong with the NCAA sanctions against USC, but glad we are finally passed it. It literally took USC out for 10 years.

          • Can’t agree Sammy: Bush saw the $$$$, and took them in violation of NCAA rules that bozo u agreed to observe.

      • Bush’s last 3 years(3 teams) Sammy might be termed hanging on by his fingernails.

Bush has rushed 12 times in 2016 for a -0.3 Rushing average. Apparently Sammy, Bush needs the money, because anybody with just little self respect would have gracefully retired.

And Bush’s Super Bowl win. LOL

This is a quote from Conquest Chronicles: “In all honesty, Bush was hardly a factory in the game.”

        Bush’s stats: No TD’s; 5 carries 25 yards; 4 receptions 38 yards, and 1 punt return 4 yards.

          • Remember how USC routinely punked Drew and beat him down like the little gutty he always played like against USC. The Trojans always made drew look pitiful.

          • And Drew was scared off by Bush and Lendale White. He ended up at the “other school”. That turned out great for him they made a bunch of 2nd tier bowls. We kicked the **** out them that day in the Coliseum.

          • ucla = 2nd and 3rd tier bowl U. Now they can’t even go. Wonder what it’s like to be in a bruin house now? Do they just keep the TV turned off because they can’t stand to watch USC Rose Bowl commercials day and night?

          • This is what its like.

Last year: Lose to petition bowl team Nebraska in the KFC Bowl. A 6-7 Cornhusker team who begged to play Josh Rosen.

This year: No Bowl…Home for the holidays.

          • I love that movie Home for the Holidays with Robert Downey Jr., Holly Hunter, Charles Durning and and Anne Bancroft. A true comedy, like bruin football.

          • I will have to check that one out. Robert Downey Jr is a good actor. Even in his coked out days.

          • 1995. He’s in great form and plays a crazy character, probably doing coke day and night at the time. I would def recommend. One of my favorite Xmas movies.

          • Sammy back. Truth hurts so much he changes the subject with an irrelevant observation.

Sammy, did you also locate Leinart’s SB stats?

          • Back to the subject….

If memory serves me right Bush played a key part in the Saints road to winning that super bowl. Even returned a punt for a TD in the NFC Championship Game.

    • A bust is staying home at bowl season and watching the best team in LA play on your rented field.. Switching sides next year won’t you win games either.. ✌
