Oregon 84, USC 61

usc-oregon-hoops-2016Welcome to the real world of ranked college basketball teams. USC losing in Eugene is nothing to be ashamed of. Especially without Bennie Boatwright, which someone will undoubtedly mention.

But it’s taken 15 games for USC to play a real team and the final result wasn’t pretty. At least we know USC will not go undefeated this season.

  1. Typical, after all the bozo u cupcake wins hoopla, they choke vs a real, ranked Oregon Duck team. What a shock. At one point, deep in the 2nd quarter bozo u was down 30. LOL.

Then the bozo’s start the loser excuses, excuses, excuses, excuses whine. Well, we didn’t have Benny Boatwright.

Give me a break, Andyain’twinning wouldn’t have won with Benny and a loaded Thompson submachine gun.

You didn’t the ear the Oregon Beaver’s whining Wed. after losing to bozo u that their best player was hurt and unavailable for the game.

    • Colleges don’t play “quarters”, f uulcan. You know as much about basketball as you do politics.

      • Typical bozo u , whine about the cheese at a skunk barbeque. I do know bozo u was down 30 points at garbage time.

Goop, Ricky Nixon wasn’t a crook, and you’re not a political half wit.

        • Little Owns rubbing his tears away finally has something to cheer about. I hear Chosen One has been diagnose with PTSD and petitioning for entry in draft.

          • Rosen’s a bust – a big cover boy who specializes in face plants. But he’s all the little gutties have in Wimpwood, where players become couch potatoes during bowl season.

          • I was thinking of putting Owns on ignore, his posts are of no value and are the same over and over again. Its the same boring narrative, apparently the only one he has.

          • Your the definition of making a fool out of yourself. At least all of your cohorts where smart enough to leave.

          • the baby bruin Trolls can’t stand to talk about football, the main sport in college and the U.S. Imagine if you were a ucla fan and USC owned your own rented stadium. Poor little gutties, dog meat yet again.

      • Marv, Bruin Rob is your typical bleeding heart liberal, he’s allergic to facts and logic.

    • Squatter, the Beavers are Oregon St. The Ducks are Oregon. Thug U and USC have the same record in league

  2. What did you expect? This schedule was a complete farce. There is no mental toughness that Enfield has instilled. Played a good 10 minutes of the first half, and then folded like a cheap napkin. There were so many teams out there that would have gone undefeated with that schedule. Sorry to say a record of 10 & 8 in conference if they can get Boatwright back sooner than later otherwise under .500

    • Yeah pretty much what it was – not ready for show time a lot of work needs to be done still.

    • SC was in the game until McLaughlin picked up that 2nd foul and went to the bench with about 4 minutes left in the 1st half. He has to stay away from silly fouls for SC to succeed.

      • True. McLaughlin also missed three layups in the first half that he normally makes. I think he was off from the get go. I still think we’ll play Oregon much better at the Galen later in the season

  3. SC and (2)UCLA 1-1 in Oregon this week, both lost to a very good Oregon team, SC finally won in Corvalis, Yes they will have to get better, but did anybody think SC was winning the conference regular season, quality home wins, maybe a couple of upsets on the road, go far in the conference tourny, maybe make the NCAA, that’s what I’m looking for.

    • USC should have blown OSU away, instead they allowed them back into the game, not a sign of a good team by any means

      • Seems like I remember them doing that a lot last year. Not good. But at least they got the win. That’s positive.

  4. It was always hard to tell about this team based on its record based on their schedule. The hype so far was ill conceived.

    • That’s because fan boys never look at the big picture, they rather slobber over, the win loss record, regardless of the opponents .

      • And those guys are a great example for our current roster that you should probably listen to the NBA scouts who say you or aren’t ready. Hopefully our guys will look at them and make smarter choices.

  5. The first thing you learn in sports is PLAY WITH OR AGAINST BETTER PEOPLE, it only makes you better. Playing cupcake after cupcake is not the way to make your team better

  6. You know what? Enfield has not made any real improvement. Last year the P12 by tourney time was exposed as worst than a mediocre mid major. We loaded up on easy games, were in the middle of the worst conference and ppl said it was an improvement because, wait for it, Enfield did better that the years before when he broke USC’s worst records in the history of the program.

USC is getting the talent and in a great place with all facilities, location and NBA placement track record to get talent. There has been success in SC basketball history, and in a sport where a lot of big time programs are identified by tourney appearances rather than just NCs, USC is up there (if overshadowed by you know who).

Enfield is learning on the job. But then again, CLK and Sark were learning and despite the horrors that came from those two.

Same might be said of our FB coach. He’s smart enough to get out of his own way now, learning on the job after a pretty disastrous start. But let’s face it, the P12 in FB is absolute garbage too.

Playing garbage teams and winning is fine, I just don’t like it when we get exposed by non-garbage.

I just want us to pull out the win vs Penn State which shouldn’t be too hard, it’s the 4th best team in the Big 10. And I want us to make our way through the P12 in hoops and get to the tourney and get a win or two at long last. We’ll get some more talent and our coaches will presumably get more experience and be better too!

SC is the most resilient athletic program in the country, will be back on top- I really believe that. But we would would be already be there if hiring wasn’t repeatedly bungled in the first place. #LegacyOfPatHaden

  7. Non-conference sandbagging lead to us being totally exposed in Eugene. It’s been said many times that winning at home and only losing half of your road games puts you in a competitive position for the post season. I would make a small wager that we are no better than .500 by seasons end. Keeping O’Bannon may be difficult.
