Was Washington Soft?

alabama-wash-2Here’s what Alabama defensive end Jonathan Allen, probably the best defensive player in the nation, said after defeating Washington: “They were soft. No disrespect, but we could have played better.”

Was Washington soft? That’s probably just trash talk. But again, who were the quality wins for the Huskies? Stanford? Washington State? Colorado? Maybe Allen meant the schedule was soft.

  1. Washington’s defense played their tails off tonight. The Bama defensive line was dominant and they were the difference in the game.

    • Yep, the turnovers killed Washington, but Alabama didn’t know what to do with the Wash defense most of the night. Browning is simply not very good. Hugely overrated. The fact that the Pac-12 dubbed him Offensive Player of the Conference over Darnold is silly…

      • Well…yet another not-so-great year for the PAC, all the way around. U-Dub was a fraud, despite its “big wins” over mediocre competition. Let’s hope SC saves the season for the conference.

    • no pick 6 and that game is real close … how about a hold on Bamer just once. Long TD run was a joke, DE got hooked from the get go. That game could have easily been 10-7.

      • But Troller says UW was a fraud. She needs to stick with her far left kook political websites.

    • Huskie coaches did a great job of preparing their team but were outmanned at Oline… Browning not mobile enough to make plays with legs ( Deshaun Watson will )
      Pick 6 was killer , other wise it’s a 10-7 game late.
Good news for Bama .. idiot Kiffin done Bad news his idiot buddy Suck taking his place

    • You want SOFT….look no further than “THE Ohio State College For Arts & Crafts”. And they actually have a fan blog claiming that they are “The Land Grant Holy Land”. Seriously!

  2. Soft or hard, the weaker team always looks tender and docile, compared to the winning team. Washington was over-matched by Alabama in just about every aspect, and it was all predicted even before the game started.

  3. Well they weren’t winners – sad what might have been – those 3 losses in September sealed our fate.

Clemson looks ready and OH St.’s qb looks as scared as he did against MI – yeah I know OH St. won believe me their qb looked terrified.

  4. No. They held the best team in college football to only two offensive TD’s. They aren’t soft. Defensively Alabama is on a whole different level with the rest of college football.

  5. UW was way overrated and had no business in the NC tournament mix. The tournament committee has it head where the sun don’t shine.

    • JustMoans – everyone wonders what the spokesperson for that CFB powerhouse, Sawtelle State, thinks about Clemson pasting Ohio State… or do we?

  6. Washington didn’t deserve the 4 spot..The schedule liken to Ucla was soft from game one.. Well at least we don’t have to hear their god awful fans, saying we want BAMA anymore.. And lastly, Ucla what can I say, you fans need a life, and a team that will give 100%.. Hope you enjoyed your bowl game as much as we did LOL.. See you on monday in our other home.. Fight On! ✌

          • Based on the 8 games and turn around USC should be on your list.. They can beat anyone in the country!

          • NEWSFLASH: the playoff selection is based on the full season of games, pre-bowl…not just the games you want to count. How old are you?

          • Older and wiser than you.. The season is one game at a time guru.. Each week improvement and wins ..team played lights out..USC is by far a worthy top 5 team.. Once the final polls come out, Should USC win they will be in the top 5.. Not like Ucla, your team!

          • Simple solution. 8 team playoff. 5 League Champions plus 3 at large. That solves it. SC was never getting in with 3 losses. The biggest turd was laid by Ohio State.

          • There would still be bickering about who deserves that #8 spot every year.
There was usually an argument about who got into the title game during the BCS era which was essentially a two team playoff. There has been disagreement every year of the four team playoff and it would be the same with eight teams.
It’s a big mess with no real solution.

          • There’s always bickering about March Madness as well with 68 teams, but when does the 68th team do anything? I just think that if you win the league, you are in. Beyond that, there can be bickering. Nobody seeded #8 would beat Alabama this year anyway.

  7. “Was Washington Soft? ” ??

    And Ohio State wasn’t ?

    “Blooper Bowls” !

Next week. “the” Blooper Bowl, Washington vs Ohio State, point spread “0” !!

    Which ever scores WINS ?

    USC ?

Until the “Depth” catches up (D+, Offense is there!) there is know way to predict a USC Victory, We have a Utah transfer filling in for what was taken away, depth ain’t there))

That said. USC “would” have beaten both Washington and Ohio State (Both of their Quarterbacks sucked), but without the depth, I doubt they would have beaten Alabama or Clemson !!!

“2” more years, and that won’t be a problem !

“But” it is a problem now…

Now just beat Penn State, which “should” have beaten Ohio State (Their Quarterback Sucks) and lets get on with next year, FINISH 2016 via 2017 !!!

Take away the “depth” problem, and We would have WON it this Year…

    FightOn !!!

    • OH St. was very fortunate to have been berthed for the final four – then again they weren’t when they were shown for what they are ‘lucky’.

Clemson is a big fav going into that game a week from tomorrow…..any dynasty well tell you – it is not easy to keep winning over and over and over.

    • somebody gets it … this Bamer greatest of all time is such BS. Offense is pathetic, now it’s just hand it to 25 year old 240 tb 40x now, cannot pass , cannot use middle of the field. Kiffin is pathetic, but we all know that.
Watson can cause Bamer D trouble … he had no problem last year. Bamer hasn’t seen a qb even close to Watson , not even close.

  8. Alabama fans are losing their minds over Lane Kiffin’s play-calling

Lane Kiffin won’t be the Alabama offensive coordinator next season, as he is heading to become the head coach of Florida Atlantic. That will be just fine Bama fans.

Despite having a comfortable lead over Washington in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, a lot of Crimson Tide fans were demanding answers: Why wasn’t Kiffin having the team run the ball? and he is so much love with his frosh qb, Jalen Hurt, he has to make him the hero despite his obvious limitations as a thrower.

Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough seemed to bust out a big gain every time he touched the ball, but Kiffin had kept spotlighting Hurt, limiting Scarbrough to 13 carries midway through the fourth quarter despite him averaging over 8 yards per run.

Alabama fans were delighted with Scarbrough and furious with Kiffin. Just think Bama fans, Kiffin’s twin , Steve Sarkisian takes over next year.

Seriously, go on Twitter and search “run the ball Kiffin.” It’s the most thrilling part of this football game right now.

  9. SC beat Washington. SC deserved the #4 spot, but that won’t do them any good on Tuesday. You can’t win games based on hype. Look at Washington. SC will have to play like real Trojans to win the Rose Bowl.

  10. I think SC dominated UW more than Bama did. That was a home game for Bama while SC did it in Seattle. Not saying SC would beat Bama but I think they’d give a run for their money. I think Clemson upsets the tide 27-17
