Classy Move Of The Game

When Adoree Jackson got hurt, Penn State on the sideline near Jackson took a knee and then applauded when he got up. That’s a sign of what James Franklin brings to a program. Class.

  1. And a Helton-coached squad wouldn’t do the same? I’d wager they’d do the same thing. Helton’s a grown-up, and a mature adult. Get off Franklin for a while – he lost.

  2. Boy is Scott pissed! By the way the drunken 20 something penn st fans were trying to pick fights with middle aged men and women in the stands and in the shuttle busses. My high school son could not believe it. Put that in your quill mr. Sad sack.

    • One of those jack wagons stated, “If this game was played in New York USC would’ve lost because USC doesn’t travel well.” Pathetic.

      • Some jackass in our shuttle said essentially the same thing. They must have received talking points

  3. Helton is a class act.

Now, if that had been Kiffin……………………..

  4. Former Vanderbilt University football coach James Franklin changed his story Wednesday about whether he had seen a video of what police say was a sexual assault on a student by four former football players in June of 2013.

Franklin, testifying via Skype during a pre-trial hearing for four former players facing rape charges, said he gave players the impression he had seen the video to emphasize the seriousness of the situation.

Franklin said he had not then — and still has not — seen any video evidence, a change from what he has said before.

“Coach Franklin: Did you lie?” asked defense attorney John Herbison.

    “No sir,” Franklin said.

    Class.

  5. Good bye all…I’ve had enough of this Punk Blogger. Will get my info from the LA TImes.

    • You see him for who he is.Most of us do also.Hes a little man. However I enjoy talking with folks like yourself and many others.I have no respect for WW.I do thank the paper for providing a free place for us to converse.WW has no credibility, and won’t.

    • I’ve had the same thoughts today. This over the top anti USC writing reminds me of the lack of objectivity by the media to Trump.

    • But the Blogger was the only one who knew Haden, Kiffin and Sark were fakes from the get go.

  6. I do believe Penn state showed and is a reflection of Class…
    I said that last night…
AND I think it is a HUGE testimony to Helton ,that after each turnover the player RUNS to give Helton the ball in respect. Jackson did that last night,TV showed it and talked about the players love and respect for Helton…..

  7. Folks if you are not happy with SW, our choices are to ignore him by leaving this blog or contact his editor at DN and express your concerns. I choose to stay here for the conversation with fellow contributors and to learn information about USC. Whatever quality I get from the blogger is a plus. Great win yesterday. Much more optimistic about the football program than I was one year ago.

  8. I think any chance of Adoree Jackson coming back next year was dashed by that injury he suffered. Can’t blame him if he goes pro and the Rose Bowl was his last game as a Trojan. He was so much fun to watch play. Amazing talent. Best wishes for him in the pros.

    • If he wants to play corner in the NFL he should come back and do some more work. If he can wants to do kick returns and passing downs he should go. Hope he stays, next will be special for SC.

    • It’s a shame the field was like ice and he slipped and almost seriously injured himself.

  9. Wolfy: can you quit your man-crush on James Franklin? We get it okay? You wanted him for the USC job. He didn’t get it. You cried. Move on!!!!!

  10. Wolfie was right about Franklin. He won at Vanderbilt(a place that is not easy to win at) and now he’s building a great program at PS. I liked that he suspended those 2 players before a big game like this. I don’t know what they did but it must have been more than just being late for a meeting. But those teams down south and even Ohio State and Michigan wouldn’t have suspended those players for any reason in a big game like this. I agree…..he does have class. I would have certainly have hired him over Helton at the time. But now, I like what Clay Helton has done. He’s got a lot of class too.

    • James Franklin would never have been approved by President Nikias with the rape scandals that occurred under his watch at Vanderbilt.

      • I didn’t know anything about that but it doesn’t matter. I’m quite happy with the direction of the program under CH.

      • He’s done a great job. SC is now a hot commodity among the recruits. Next Tuesday I think they will be rated either 3rd or 4th in the nation in the final polls. Now it’s time to recruit bigtime. This past season reminds me so much of 2011. Lane Kiffin had a real window of opportunity to establish himself in 2012 and he missed his chance. CH will have that same window in 2017. Let’s hope he takes advantage of it.

          • 2002 was similar. PC had that same window of opportunity in 2003 after a great season in 2002. He took advantage of it and won the national championship that year and the rest is history. Kiffin missed his opportunity in 2012. We’ll see what CH does next year.

      • At Alabama, LSU, Michigan and Ohio State, they would have gone to that professor of the class where the players were struggling and told him “you pass this guy even if he has never set one foot in your class all semester and if you don’t then start looking for a carpenters job or something”(especially if the player was a starter). At those schools football isn’t a sport, it’s a religion.

    • So tell me how you fell about his response to the gang rape by 4 of his players at Vandy?

      • I don’t know enough about it to make a statement other than to say that if he knew for sure that it happened and he went along with it to help his won-loss percentage and his career, then he obviously isn’t as classy as Wolf says he is. I’m just a little bit sceptical of all these rape claims because today on the college campuses, all a girl has to do is claim rape and it is now the guys responsibility to prove himself innocent. The old addage “innocent until proven guilty’ doesn’t exist on the college campus anymore.

  11. Football class is not limited to Penn State I have seen Adoree run over to injured players and shake hands. Also Penn State wasn’t too shabby before Franklin.

    • I’ve seen that from Adoree as well. I’ve seen him many times during games helping other players up.

  12. Bot teams played their hearts out and wanted the win. Tough game to lose. Penn St will take that pain and be very nasty next year. We may see them in the playoffs against SC a year from now. That would be huge!

  13. Only Wolf man can spin Franklins choke job to serve his narrative that SC should have hired him

  14. Wolf you want CLASS ????? Post a blog about what Clay Helton had to say after the game…. I dare you…

“Glory to God,” Helton told ESPN’s Samantha Ponder. “He’s watched after this team all year and watched after us one more time. What a valiant effort by a group of young men and this staff. I can’t tell you how proud I am of them in this atmosphere.”

I am sure the mention of GOD is too offensive for the left wing liberal blogger.

    • Clay Helton is a class act. He also praised the Penn State program. What is not classy is stereotyping everyone who apparently does not share your own specific political beliefs.
