Steve Sarkisian would be a top tier head coach in the SEC pic.twitter.com/vIy5m4gt9M

Colin Cowherd today: “Sark is, outside of Saban, is as good as any potential head coach in the SEC.” The South Bay buddies still look out for each other. This is probably how Steve Sarkisian got hired by Fox Sports 1.
I don’t get it.
Was Sarkisian never to be allowed to work again?
Wolfman how about some recruiting info. Helton is about to close on a top 5 class. Let’s do a chat! Enough Sark and Kiffin trivialities.
With ZERO TOP DL’S. That’s a COMPLETE FAIL !!!!!!!!!
DL’S what?
Meh. They got Lang and Lichtenstein, both are projects but both with potential, especially Lang because of his size and length. Very good shot to get Tufele, 50/50 to get Solomon.
The grown men fetish continues……
… at least it’s no longer young boys.
Steve Sarkisian had zero leadership skills while he was at USC, and I doubt if alcohol had anything to do with it. So I wonder what Colin Cowherd uses as a measuring stick for a good coach? But if Sarkisian stays clean, he could probably make millions as a coordinator.
I agree plus his going forward with his (only in CA) lawsuit due to his own self-destructive idiocy.
Another reason not to hire him as a HC anytime soon.
Amen and double amen!
Don’t think he had a choice, since when USC fired him, they told him “You get nothing!”
I just hope Sarkisian goes to trial (USC refuses to negotiate) and then move for discovery.
Go Clemson!
The SEC likes to recruit great bit linemen, Sark likes to have twenty to twenty-five WR’s. Will never make it anywhere like that.
Exactly
He can out drink them all and apparently mine for boogers better than any SEC coach as well !
You can make a credible argument that the SEC, outside of Saban, is talent rich and coaching poor. Clay Travis, the most vocal SEC partisan, makes the argument that the SEC has responded to the Saban factor by progressively hiring worse and worse head coaches:
Muschamp < Spurrier (S Carolina)
Smart < Richt (UGA)
Mason < Franklin (Vandy)
McElvain/Muschamp < Meyer (UF)
Odom < Pinkel (Mizzou)
Orgeron < Miles (LSU)
Bielema Sherman (A&M), Freeze > Nutt (Ole Miss), Malzahn > Chizik (Auburn) and Jones > Dooley (Tenn). Stoopes is probably an upgrade over Joker Phillips, but Kentucky is irrelevant in football. Saban started a year before Mullin, but Croom was already on the hotseat before Saban joined the conference.
George, if your knowledge of SEC football could fill a quart-size jug, my contribution would be less than a teaspoon.
Meh. Only because the SEC is on every week, usually before the good Pac-12 games, and an SEC game almost always a better game than a 13-10 Iowa/Wisconsin Big 10 West snoozefest.
That is so true.
Independent_George, close on most, wrong on UF and LSU. In 2014, under Head Coach Muschamp, the Gators finished a miserable 7-5. In 2015, under Head Coach McElwain, the Gators finished 10-4 but lost to Michigan 41-7 in the Bowl game. In 2016, under Coach McElwain, the Gators finished 9-4 beating iowa 30-3 in the Bowl. The Facts concerning Coach O vs Coach Miles: The final 9 LSU games coached my Miles finished 4-5. Miles gets canned. In LSU’s final 6 games of the 2016 season, under Coach O LSU finished 6-2, defeating #23 Ole Miss, #25 Arkansas, and #13 Louisville while losing to #1 Alabama and #23 Florida. The LSU-BAMA score at the end of the 3rd quarter as 0-0. Coach O’s Southern Drawl freaks out most Palos Verdes Estates 1%’s. Having made a very good living the past 45 years in the Texas Oil Industry, I have every reason to be fond of the Southern Drawl, but that’s not why I believe in Coach O.
I will admit that Orgeron should be an improvement over 2013-2016 Les Miles, but don’t forget that Miles led two teams to the BCS championship game. Until Orgeron gets LSU into the playoffs, or at least consistently into a New Year’s Six Bowl, so Miles, IMHO, gets the benefit of the doubt.
I included McElvain and Muschamp together as “McElvain/Muschamp” because both are a downgrade to Urban Meyer. Yes, McElvain is an upgrade to Muschamp, but still not Urban.
Any mention by CC that Sark will have to prove he can trusted with the responsibility of being D-1 head coach. I wouldn’t hire Sark as a HC in a power 5 conference till he shows he is clean and sober for 3-4 years. But I hope he makes it and beats his demons.
Cowherd is a joke
Sark had his issues at UW long before coming here. Good thing Haden vetted him
