bush-pushMatt Leinart became the 43rd person with USC ties (including 32 players) to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He is one of 13 inducted in this year’s class.

  1. Boy Wolf, this has really got to piss you off. I like how you posted a picture of Leinart with you in the background. Did you have anything written down in your notebook? Or were you waiting to copy someone elses work?

    • For any new comers to this dog-and-pony-show blog, Scott, back in the day, never let any perceived Leinart slight, real or imagined, go unanswered. Years after Leinart graduated, Wolf would still take potshots at Leinart. It wasn’t until Scottie found a “bigger” nemesis, Lane Kiffin, that he would finally leave Matt alone.

Scottie’s pettiness belies the fact that Matt Leinart is perhaps the greatest QB of the BCS era. In his career as a starting QB, Leinart lost two games — overtime to Cal in his third game, and the BCS final to Texas, his last game. He may not have been the most athletic, had the stongest arm, are had been the best pro prospect, but he was a winner from whom all future USC QBs will be measured.

  2. In your face SW.

Just another example of USC dominance in college football. The train keeps moving along with more and more USC players aboard every year.

Congrats to Leinart. Big-time player. I’ll never forget his classic audibilized throw to Jarrett on 4th and 9 in South Bend. What a performance that day by Leinart.

    • AND HE RETURNED FOR HIS SENIOR YEAR…loyalty and fidelity over money…I will always respect him for that

  3. Well deserved induction for Matt Leinart. I am surprised that Marshall Faulk is just now being inducted, that guy was amazing in college.

  4. With that, it’s time for a Matt Leinart quote:

“Sam Darnold has a chance to go down as the one of the greatest Trojans of All Time…Ice in his veins!”

    — Matt Leinart

    • Maybe other’s saw this; On the R..als site.Reporter Scott S. was in an elevator at Army All Star Saturday game leaving press Box.7-10 reporter’s were talking about how they didn’t care for the new Dos XX man. S.S said from behind that “Sam Darnold was the Most Interesting Man in the World” They all turned around and laughing and nodding Agreed.

  5. Matty most deserves being in the CHOF. He was a difference maker who delivered when it counted. He has the wins to prove it.

  6. That’s a great picture, except for the dork with the Notts Forrest jersey in the background.

  7. I suggest a “What’s Wolf thinking in this picture” contest.

My entry – “That’s an amazing comeback. How the hell am I gonna put a negative spin on it?”.

    • How about: “Too bad USC won. I’m going to find a 5th grade quarterback I can start blogging about”

    • Pizza tonight – pepperoni or meat lovers?

WTF, everybody seems engaged in the game and the Blogger appears to be looking upwards to the sky.

  8. I do not know what happened in the Pros but as a college athlete he was as good as it got. He was a playmaker.
    Congratulations to him.
