USC Tweet Of The Night

  1. Juju might be a 3rd rounder, wouldn’t be surprised to see him picked even later, lot of WR’s better than him

  2. Ju Ju should have stayed, and Adoree should stay, work on their skills, have a championship season, get drafted higher next year.

    • For a WR, rarely does more game film improve their chances of being drafted higher. So many WRs sneak into the 1st unexpectedly because of freak 40s, verts, measurables, etc, and little corresponding game film. Physically, JuJu is ready for the NFL, probably more than most college receivers outside of Mike Williams and ArDarius Stewart. But mentally, I would agree with you, he could benefit form another year to work on his discipline and limiting the sometimes odd easy drops. He was as tough as they come at that position though – maybe since Keary Colbert or Steve Smith, but a better overall athlete than those two.

      • That is quite a statement, Colbert and Smith are some very good athletes. Williams was a great athlete.

  3. Juju is a warrior. He’s played hurt the past two seasons. This might raise his draft status. The fact that I don’t follow pro football most of the season makes me an expert. For that reason I think he will be drafted when a team wants him.

  4. Nobody ever thought JuJu was a 1st rounder. Has always lacked separation ability and has average hands.

Good, not great player. If he stayed, he’d be a good, not great player after next season too.

At least he’s way better than George Farmer. Good luck to JuJu. He was an inspirational tough guy with good dance moves. A very valuable player who won’t be hard to replace.

    • JuJu will make more in the NFL in 2 years than Scott will make in his lifetime. Juju has passion and looks at life as the glass is half full. Scott will always hate these type of people,
      #helpme

      • Will he make more than Dane Brugler? Does Dane Brugler look at life as a glass half empty ? Does Dane Brugler hate Juju because he critiques his athletic ability in football?

    • How do we know anything about Farmer, guy was always hurt. I don’t think he was ever 100% at USC.

      • Apparently, he’s never been 100% since he was literally the nation’s #1 receiver in the class of 2011 out of Serra, Calif’s biggest football factory. He’s the classic over-rated physical god. Even got a big pre-season write-up in SI as a projected break-through player but he always disappeared once the season started.

He literally caught a total of 30 passes for about 300 yds in his entire USC career before leaving early for the NFL. Couldn’t cut it at RB either for the Trojans, who were always looking for a way to get him on the field.

Even when he wasn’t hurt, he was nothing special – a classic All-Get-Off-the Bus team player with terrific exponents but no performance. I think he had a 2 TD ND game and that was basically the extent of his college career.

He was totally over-rated based on his father’s NFL background, influence with the recruiting services and man-among-boys physique. Very fast, but not quick. Not good hands. Not good patterns. Not evasive or good at breaking tackles. Injury prone. He’s a big, fast guy with about half as much talent as JuJu. And if Adoree had Farmer’s size, Adoree would be a top 3 pick and headed to the NFL HOF.

Farmer left USC early because he wasn’t a starter and could never become USC’s go-to guy. The move made sense. He grew up being told by everyone he was a future NFLer and he literally had a better shot hooking up with the Dallas Cowboys than he did succeeding at USC – which is always loaded with WRs who can actually play in the NFL.

Despite all his hype, nobody drafted Farmer yet Dallas gave him a fantastic 50K free agent signing bonus and then immed cut him to make room for a better WR. Farmer has tried to hang on with Seattle as a RB/DB but is basically a practice squad/injured reserve guy who can’t make the active roster.

I actually was watching a Seahawks game this season and saw Farmer get in a game only to drop a short easy pass and get pulled.

Maybe his miracle is still waiting for him. Hope so. Always great to see Trojans succeed. But Farmer’s really an example of how great the good ones really are at USC.

  5. That’s fine, and good luck to JuJu. But this dork sounds like some non-athletic nerd in his parent’s basement who hasn’t showered for days and has the remnants of empty Cheetohs bags and empty Mountain Dew Code Red bottles all over his computer desk. NERDS!

  6. JuJu’s biggest asset is his heart, because there’s nothing special about his physical talents

    • Are you sure about that, Fred? His sideline stuttering is undoubtedly world-class! LOL!

  7. Came to see if SW had any negative comments on Joe Barry being hired by the Rams. I’m sure it’s coming but SW won’t get his scoop for a day or 2.

  8. Juju has heart and will produce as a mid-level WR in the NFL. Hopefully Adoree stays for one more year.

  9. Juju may not be drafted in the 1st but no way slips past 2nd. He’s a little under-sized for a #1 WR, and doesn’t have out-of-this-world speed. But he’s a high-motor guy who – despite this clown that SW uncritically retweets – consistently out-muscles cover-corners in the 7-15 yd range. He’s good in the open field, and an excellent blocker. So, as long as the expectation is that you are getting a high quality #2, who has the physicality to make an impact as a rookie, I think there systems that bite on him possibly even late 1st (if Davis, Williams, and Stewart are already off the board early in the 1st).

Given how physical he is, I do wonder at times if SC should’ve kept him at safety, his more natural position. But I think given how highly Adams and Hooker in this draft, he probably would be looking at the same range. Leaving now was as sensible as it could, at the end of day. I hope he has a ten year career as dependable split-end/slot receiver, and wins some championships.

  10. How quickly people forget all of the incredible catches he has made, many in big moments. Some athletes play bigger and faster than their size and speed. You all know the list.

  11. Here’s a positive spin on this. Despite some obvious limitations, John Smith-Schuster was a preseason All-American. This says something about his receiving coach (Tee Martin initially) and the University that helped him have two breakout seasons.

    Great recruiting spin.

  12. Agreed. He should stay in college til they finally kick him out. Does anybody know if Prince Abdul is still living in Marks Tower, btw?
