Pac-12 Influence

The Las Vegas Bowl, without a Pac-12 team, had its best rating since 2012. And the game was a blowout as San Diego State routed Houston, 34-10. Another reason why DirecTV does not need the Pac-12 Network.

  1. The game was about Lsu fans watching and thinking If only? Texas fans saying, This is us next year. On September 16th USC will deliver the same results. Herman didn’t coach the bowl but it was his product.

  2. DirecTV better start figuring out that people don’t need them these days.

  3. Blogger do you ever say anything meaningful for Trojan fans? After all you do call your blog Inside USC.

    • Well it’s debatable if Wolf ever posits anything “meaningful,” but in Kenny Baby’s case, it’s all fireball rubbish.

    • There is some USC recruiting noise and a 3 star decommitment expected. The kid is now looking, we have strong traction on a 5 star from Florida who wants in ..He OVs tomorrow..

    • Every body showed that was planned.Of course the out of state guys loving California.
Only one, possibly two might commit this coming week.Others have more visits..
The Poly BOWL next weekend will have a number of targets for us.
Major major traction concerning 2018 class commitments.Good ones.
Current class will finish strong on Defense.A number of DL, Ol to sign.Only question is will one of the DL be a 4/5 star.

      • If USC with all their amazing success this season and such desperate need at DL fails to bring in even one 4/5 star there, that would be a major failure in this class. No real excuse for that, regardless of how 2018 looks IMHO.

  4. Couple rule changes with major traction……
    1. Freshman would be allowed 4 games to play in and STILL redshirt.
    2. A early signing date in December,Followed by the final in February.

    To be voted on..

    • How would the early signing date change things? A player couldn’t get out of it before the February final date?

      • Only ready the basic about it.It appears the early has the same binding rules as the later. It would bind both player and school as February does.

  5. Direct TV better stand up and recognize, because USC is back, and the overall conference will be second to none in two years

    • Direct TV plays hardball with everyone, not just the PAC 12. They have had a # of negotiations stall to the point that service for different networks in individual cities have been interrupted. Other providers have had disputes & interuptions, but Direct TV seems to be the most intransigent in their negotiations.

  6. Funny that i left Direct TV because there was no Pac 12 networks.
I get to watch all Pac 12 (USC) events and i get all of my Dodgers games.

    • One of the major issues in Birdcage’s life is why the Pac-12 Network won’t prostrate itself for Direct TV and change its entire business model to join.

Who needs Direct TV? Easy to get the Pac-12 Network without it.

      • Honestly. Direct TV is dropping the ball. They feel the Pac 1w Network is small potatoes but they’ve lost some loyal customers over the last 5 years.

  7. Hearing some good stuff about Levi Jones. Helton is getting it done with him.

  8. Who gives a crap about the Las Vegas bowl. The highest rated non-playoff was the Rose with Pac-12’s favorite son – the USC Trojans. I know, hearing GOOD things about SC hurts Scottie like holy water on a vampire, but hey, has to be said.

  9. Who cares?? If someone really wants the P12 network it’s available on DISH and many others providers now.
