An Adoree Jackson Thought

If Adoree Jackson came back next year, should he play more offense? He might not be able to raise his stock much as a cornerback and his size might be an issue. But as an offensive player/kick returner, would he have more value to NFL teams?

I still find it crazy that Jackson played so much offensively against Penn State but got in for one play against Stanford, which turned out to be a vital game for USC’s season.

  1. In my humble opinion, if Adoree returns, he should be used exactly as New Orleans used Reggie —as a back catching short passes in space and as a kick returner —we’ll wind up averaging about one more touchdown per game.

  2. He would only come back to win the Heisman. He will only have a real chance if he came back to play offense to rack up the yards and scores as a receiver and returner.

    • Your right.. Watch the depth of the 2017 class in the secondary .. A silent who was all but headed to Nebraska has pledge to USC.. Johnson from Hawkins HS in the area..his younger brother is an early 2018 commit..

      • Man that would have never happened when Osborne was there – that is a real sad statement on the state of NE football.

        • The USC staff need to lockdown area schools.. Johnson was a Michigan and Nebraska recruit who really likes Riley.. They have been killing us in Ca recruiting.. USC is now selecting unlike Ucla who has to recruit.. Helps winning 10 and the Rose Bowl.

          • I still believe none of us will really know Helton’s skill set until Darnhold leaves in the meantime good to know the recent run of victories has recharged the attraction to play for and at USC!

          • Jack Sears is just as good, with Tee and Tyson coaching these kids..We should be ok… Matt Corral in the 18 class is an athlete as well…It will be fun to watch..

          • Got it – DMH what I sense is that Helton reminds me a lot of Mack Brown. Great guy won a NC but now a ‘will o’ the wisp’…

          • So are you saying it’ll be like 7 years until we know whether Helton can coach! Damn these good Quarterbacks! Why are we the only school to have to endure them??

  3. Adorre should play offense. He will find it difficult to play DB in the NFL with his size

      • This point is something I actually asked your thoughts back around the time you were given the bizz from the inside .I believe it would just add to the “The most interesting Man “Sam” and “Super Adorre ” Legend…It would be Historical.

        • I think Adoree can be an NFL corner. At least a serviceable one. I also think he would make a fine slot receiver. If Adoree comes back it could be like Leinart and Bush.

          • Whatever Adoree chooses he is such a fine young man.A great Trojan. I think he will have a wonderful life beyond football. From a selfish standpoint he would be greatest recruit for 2017

    • It’s always fun watching Adoree defend your little gutties since bruin WRs can’t catch the ball anyway and Rosen’s either on his back, fumbling, throwing picks or on the sidelines.

    • That would be a disaster for you little gutties. USC’s gonna crank it up on you anyway in November again, but with Adoree it’ll just be a little more of a blow-out.

      • Do you really have to focus on the gutties? I mean aren’t they pretty irrelevant? Clay has owned them since he was a goofy interim head coach. Even Lane Kiffin dominated them, but that’s the focus? With a national championship in our sites and 2016 Rose Bowl Championship in Heritage Hall, a 3rd win over the gutties? It’s like getting excited about beating Cal.

        • It’s really all about P12 fan, who is a little gutty Troll pretending to be a Trojan here.

Otherwise, your point is perfectly stated.

  4. So maybe Adoree has already signed the paperwork. Maybe he’s not making a big deal out of it.
Or the same can be said for him staying. He has to live with either decision.

  5. Someone on a different SC blog said that Adoree purchased an insurance policy and is in school for the spring semester. Has anyone else heard this?

    • I heard he promised Clay Helton a national championship if he will split the bonus check with him.

  6. YES! Adoree’s value with the NFL has to be his running ability with the ball in his hands. As a WR, he would cause great concern with any defense on how to cover him. Darnold is just the right QB to put the ball in Adoree’s hands.

  7. Quit looking backwards at the Stanford game. ITS OVER. What happened, happened. It is what it is. Let’s move on and FIGHT ON!

  8. Of course he’d play more offense. Late to the party, Scottie? And yeah, kudos in bringing up Stanford again. Tsk Tsk, coaching staff, for losing those 3 games! Pox on all your houses.

  9. If I was him, and I’m not him, so hold the e-mails. I would for sure come back. You just get to do this once. I know all you greedy low-lifes sitting on rented furniture with the Springs sticking out are saying how could you pass up the money, but the money will be there. Immortality is in college football. Ask Tim Tebow, Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, Lendale White, Jerry Sandusky and the list moans on. If those guys left before their time, they get a lot of money, but nobody cares. Tim Tebow is probably one of the greatest icons of the sport because of what he meant to the University of Florida. I’ll never forget the Trojan teams of 2003-2005. Those were legendary teams and players, not great NFL careers, but they all made a lot of money in the NFL anyway. Say, “Stay”.

You say I only hear what I want to.
