  1. Ah, he’s a black coach, nobody will say anything about his stupidity on this

    • Love Your Fearlessness and honesty with your comment “black coach, nobody will say anything….” so very true. If you’re black, you get a free pass on almost anything today. Scott, I hope you’re still employed tomorrow and not having mysteriously disappeared and career destroyed for your honesty ala Campanas et al.

      • “If you are black, you get a free pass on almost anything these days”. You are not only wrong but ignorant. But you are entitled to your opinion. And I am just as free to call you out for your hateful opinion.

        • He is wrong. Black conservatives don’t get a free pass and are called “mediocre Negroes” by the hateful Marc Lamont Hill on the Clinton News Network.

    • That workout was a player only workout . Coaches aren’t alowed to coach or supervise until spring training. Can’t blame Taggart for this.

  2. The problem for Taggart is recruiting – he’s used Florida extensively while at both West. KY and So. FL His problem is he’s a long way from his contacts in the ‘Sunshine State’ and this development is a sign of his mgmt. style. The old “You guys have had it easy. I know what top players look like (yeah man the Hillhoppers and the Bulls sure do play some tough teams in that AAC and Conf. USA). Get ready to man up…blah blah blah.

  3. In more pertinent information regarding USC. 4 star offensive tackle Jalen McKenzie just committed and will accept the blue shirt offer. Big time get. Son of Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie. Big time get. Scout rated no. 2 tackle in California.

        • I think his potential was too much to leave to chance of him committing as a BS. He can be a dominant guard and also play tackle. USC got a good one today. And Tennessee mucked this up big time.
Jalen said it’s been his dream since he was 5 to play at USC. That’s awesome!

      • I think all blues (not recruited, no official or in-home visit) have full rides. They just can’t start practicing until the 2nd day of fall practice and they count against the following year.

You still think he’s not a blueshirt?

        • No.. Spoke to the fam.. USC is at 60 .. 23 + 2 .. BLUES…will get them to 85.. Seems like a few more transfers coming!.

        • There are no partial rides for football. You are correct about blue shirts. In addition they don’t sit out a year like a Red or Grey Shirt. They can play this season.

  4. Most have him as 3 star, but Scout has him at 4. What is important is that he is 6’5″ 307 and decent ratings. Our OL is looking good.

    From Scout, “McKenzie is a
two-way lineman who probably projects best as an offensive guard in
college. He’s the younger brother of Tennessee DT Khalil McKenzie and
will be recruited at the national level as well. He’s a physical player
but what stands out most is his explosiveness off the snap. He can
explode out of his stance and is a punishing blocker at the point of
attack. He’s a true road grader and has the physicality to play early in
college. He’s coming off a knee injury that shortened his junior season
but if healthy, he’s a no brainer as a high Div I prospect- Biggins”

  5. USC moved up into the top 10 team in recruiting rankings. #10 Per 247.
And we still have seven (7) rides left for the big fish.

    My prediction. Top 3 class.

  6. From a #’s standpoint,2018 is light on OL and DT..Loading both sides this class is great approach.some will complain we pass on 4star skill guys to get 3/4star Linemen. But they won’t complain in 2-3 years when these linemen control the lines.

    • Good point. We have enough skill players. Loading up in the trenches is the right move.

  7. McKenzie played both offense and defense. Once he focuses on one, he is going to be good. It may not be until the 3rd season, but it maybe a homerun.
