Ex-USC Punter Marty King Dies

MARTY.KINGMarty King, an All-Pac-10 punter on the 1978 national championship football team, died Saturday of cardiac disease. He was 60.

King was USC’s punter in 1977-78, averaging 39.9 and 41.7 yards per kick. 1. Sadly, another former bozo FB player expires very young – about 18.7 years short of an average American male.

      • Oh I see Mr. Swamp Fungus, sadly pointing out the another young, former bozo u player expires make me garbage. LOL

Listen Swamp Fungus, if your passing is reported by the blog, count on me to pi*s on your grave.

        • Yeah, it pretty much does. What’s next Bruin Rob, your cartoon of the Mario Danelo tragedy? As far as pissing on someone’s grave, when you leave this earth the line for that is going to rather long.

          • Just block the fool. You won’t have to read his nonsense and that negates his sole purpose in life.

    • Yeah, we know Bruin Rob.It’s USC fault that this former player tragically dies at a young age. Your hatred of anything USC is really sickening. I can almost guarantee you that if a tragedy stuck anyone from UCLA that no one from USC would show up on the UCLA blog and make light of the situation. So go ahead, sit in Cerritos working your low paying job, and keep living your miserable life you pathetic piece of garbage.

  2. Marty was a 5th generation San Jose native.

He attended St. Joseph’s grammar school in San Jose and Bellarmine College Preparatory. Marty helped win a high school CCS championship as the quarterback for the Bellarmine Bells division 1 football team.

He then played for the USC Trojans football team and helped win the 1978 college football national championship and the 1979 Rose bowl.

Marty entered the national football league and played for the San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Marty became a police officer and served the public for 17 years.

Later, he attended law school and became a well respected attorney, and an adjunctprofessor at Lincoln Law School.

Marty was involved with St. Catherine’s Parish in Morgan Hill as both a lector and Eucharistic Minister. He spent his spare time doing competition barbecue and loved entertaining his family and wide circle of friends.

Marty’s love of life and gregarious personality will be sorely missed.

Marty is survived by his Wife Diane, daughter’s Denise Fernandes (Tyler), Amy White (Ian), and Sarah King.

    • I’m totally dumbfounded by Swamp Fungus’ reverent obituary.

Apparently Swamp Fungus, had a huge man crush on the deceased. Surprise, surprise!

Even the vile SF has a sweet spot!

Love is a many splendored thing.

      • A beautiful tribute by Drains, and JustFrowns has to say that Drains “had a huge man crush on the deceased.”

What? What is your deal JustFrowns.? Your type is the reason SC thinks SUCLAs are vermin.

        • John Wolcott i agree. Just Owns seems pretty classless in being snarky on the occasion of someone’s passing, especially someone who served his community. I guess I should not be surprised because we are dealing with a denizen of Bel Air tech. What a flaming jerk.

          • “Denizen,” very snappy vocabulary.

However “i” don’t agree with your assessment of my opinion. Next thing you know you’ll be whining the Falcon’s could win the SB. Joka, joka, joka.

BTW, Peachy, this would is the 51st SB that a former bozo u QB won’t be starting.

          • Bruin Rob gets a lot of crap as the assistant manager at the Cerritos McDonald’s. This explains why he is pissed off at the world, we just happen to be living in it.

          • As an ingrown hair pimple on Scott Wolf’s booty, your opinion(s) quite naturally stink.

        • This should be good.

Walnut, kindly remind me what I’ve said that is disrespectful of the person or passing of another very young former bozo u FB player?

        • Hey John, make sure you ask Owns/Bruin Rob about his drawing of the Mario Danelo tragedy.
