There will no longer be a Poinsettia Bowl after the San Diego Bowl Game Associaton decided to drop it after 12 years. More relevant to Pac-12 fans, it was also announced that the Holiday Bowl might move to Petco Park if Qualcomm Stadium shuts down after 2018.
Now that is good news. After going to two straight Holiday Bowls, the experience was definitely less than ideal at Qualcomm. And if USC ever returns, going to Petco Park sounds more fun.
RECRUITING NEWS PLEASE!!!
You’ll know for sure next week, otherwise it’s all rumor and conjecture at this point
Flow, describe your idea of “fun.” Or wait, on second thought, maybe not…
Hey Wolfbag, Petco Park is cold in the summer time. Imagine what it’s going to be in December.
Huh? It’s San Diego, cold is relative. OMG, It might be in the 60’s!
Do you know where Petco Park is located? Right on the water. The last time USC played in the Holiday Bowl it was in the high 40s low 50s, and that was in Mission Valley.
It’s football. they play in November in Ann Arbor and South Bend. To say it’s cold near the water in San Diego is amusing in the context of football. And i grew up in San Diego county, so yes, I have been to Petco many times.
Thanks for the ghastly, uninteresting update Birdcage. Inside Qualcomm, er Petco.
Football shouldn’t be played in baseball stadiums.
Channeling George Carlin, football is played in stadium, baseball is played in a park. Holiday Bowl is turning into the Chicken Bowl.
Holiday Bowl news might be more of interest to the UCLA fans… if they ever dump Mora and get a QB who is not top heavy.
Anti Semite
C’mon Chuckie.
As in BIG MOUTH! Lol
Scott .. Can you sniff at the McKay Center and find out who USC hired.. He will be added to the staff in some capacity.. And recruiting. Told a former player who coached at USC and the NFL. He also has ties to the South LA community!
More bowls should fold, like about 20 more
