Can USC Beat UCLA?

BOATWRIGHT.UCLAUSC went 3-0 against UCLA last season. A lot has changed, of course. But tonight’s game is a sellout and highly anticipated with UCLA 19-2 and USC 17-4. Does USC have a chance with or without Bennie Boatwright (above), who is not supposed to play because of a knee injury?

Perhaps with a super-inspired effort. Maybe the crowd will help in the dept. But USC will need to a play a lot better than it has in most of its Pac-12 games. Nearly blowing the Arizona State game on Sunday night was worrisome. So was the loss at home to Cal.

UCLA is a 7-point favorite.

  1. Scotty, you have the scoop right here, Benny Boatwright will be wheeled out in a wheel chair and he will act like he has no chance of returning for the rest of the season, let alone tonight. Then as the fourth player is announced for USC, the lights will go beserk and up stands Benny Boatwright, taking the floor as the fifth starter for USC. USC will just go through ugly like a hot knife through soft butter. Willis Reed has nothing on Boatwright.

  2. Scott has it right. USC kept close with U of A but should have beaten ASU by 20. Maybe Rako will have a big game tonight. Fight On!

  3. Wolfie, one recent POSITIVE Trojan BB performance was the near win against the highly ranked Arizona team at Galen Center. FIGHT ON COACH ENFIELD AND THE TROJAN TEAM !!! BEAT THE BRUINS !!!

    • 47 fails to mention a minor detail, at one point bozo u was down 22 points, before the Az got tired of making fools bozo u BB team.

  4. Personally, I think One-and-Done U wins easy. Too much future NBA talent on that club. It’s the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s, just like in football where the talent always floods into USC, regardless of who is coaching.

  5. Let’s hope so. I’ll be tuned in again. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve missed a televised game all season. My poor wife thought the USC sports obsession was done on January 2nd for the year. No qualms here, I openly admit my bandwagoning for USC Baseball/Basketball, but diehard for Football. Fight On. Beat ucla.

  6. How nervous is Owns for this game? My guess is he started drinking already. It’s basketball so if we win it is just icing on the cake.

    • Ricky, Ricky, Ricky, you hopeless, brown nose, nickel and dime street performer.

“How nervous is Owns for this game.”? Well, thanks for asking. I’ll be warm and cozy in front my TV, and expect UCLA to win.

To bad you have you have to balance frozen Dog Tootsie rolls tonight for the tourists.

However, should UCLA lose, I won’t whine or make excuses, and I won’t disappear for a week or two like you and Bunky do. I be here after the game.

        • No, too old to cope with the LA hassle/experience.

Besides, last I heard, the soft Ice Cream machines are still down.

But young Sammy, you have a good time. Hope you’re yer taking younger Sammy?

It won’t hurt to let him see what a real CBB team performs like.

          • I’ll be watching from the living room. Never really thought of going. Metu needs another big man next to him that UCLA will have to put a body on. We don’t have enough inside right now.

      • Rich, very Rich. Of course my wagon has wheels.

The wheeless bozo u BB program bandwagon languishes in a Compton junk yard.

Slapsie Maxie refuses to debit the bozo u endowment to pay for the towing and storage fees.

Maybe “St. Pat’s” foundation can help.

  7. We’ll have to play close a perfect game. After we make a bucket we MUST get back on defense, we can’t let UCLA push the ball back up and keep a high tempo or we won’t last.
    Avoid TO’s and Rebound.

    We’ll see…..

  8. USC is a poorly coached team so the only way they win is if they’re absolutely en fuego for 40 minutes.

  9. I will dream about it,,it starts at 11pm here…they have won before when thy were not supposed to, so yes they can…
