USC announced Tuesday night kicker Matt Boermeester was suspended while the university investigated a “code of conduct” issue that was first reported by Deadspin. Sources tell me that that it involves an alleged incident at a party involving a female student.
Now the question is how serious all of this becomes. Remember how quickly Jabari Ruffin got jettisoned? That involved an ex-girlfriend. Remember how Bryce Dixon was suspended for a year because of two alleged incidents with a female student who was an athletic trainer? That was also code of conduct issues. It is unlikely this gets resolved soon based on recent history.

Having women troubles is nothing new for famous athletes, but I hope SC football players aren’t still celebrating the Rose Bowl victory too much because it’s already in the past, and there’s a lot of work to do for the next season to fulfill the obvious expectations.
