  1. Good luck to him. Alcoholism is a mean son of a bitch and Sark has a long battle ahead of him. I hope he can prevail.

    • And hopefully he takes responsibility and doesn’t sue many more institutions when he shows up to student functions inebriated.

      • If he is pursuing therapy honestly, acknowledgement of past actions is an important step. The legal battle is a little more business like than his personal accountabilities—don’t mistake this for agreeing with or condoning –but the reality is the legal issues will resolve differently than how his personal issues resolve. From a strictly personal standpoint I hope he can win his fight and come out the other side a better person.

        • I agree with you, and I sympathize with the guy. Just hated to see him reflexively sue.

        • If he took responsibility for his actions that harmed USC he wouldn’t he suing. He’s a fraud.

  2. I happen to be one of those rare people who are born with a gene that makes Alcohol taste bad, so I am no better than Sark. That being said it is good to see him own the problem. He didn’t become an award winning football coach on good looks alone, so he must be smart and think before he drinks.

  3. The path to recovery to be honest with yourself that you have a problem. The first step for him.

  4. I don’t know if Sarkisian helped his cause to ever become a head coach at the college level with that statement, but nevertheless, at least he’s finally acknowledging it

  5. Good to see him talking about it like an adult instead of saying the players punished his drinking with push-ups or whatever it was. That was a lot point.

  6. I like that– “It’s a piece of me.” I will remember that line, because it is so true. Alcoholism does not define ol’ Sark, but it definitely makes up a part of who he is.

Now, about that little lawsuit against USC. The fact he has taken on other paying jobs will water down whatever his weasel lawyers can extract from SC.

  7. By the way, since all of us posters are getting the robot message of “Hold on, this is waiting to be approved by Inside USC,” shouldn’t our loving host, Mr. Scott Wolf, also be getting this message so perhaps he can get his posts spelled out correctly?
