USC Forward Chimezie Metu Tried To Trip Oregon Player

USC forward Chimezie Metu (on the bench) tried to trip Oregon forward Chris Boucher in the second half last night. The video of the play is below. If that wasn’t enough, Metu received a Flagrant 1 foul for slapping Oregon’s Payton Pritchard in the back.

  1. What’s up. SW ? Metu’s stats rock solid. FG 6-8, 3 PT 0-0, FT 4-5. REB 4. Please explain why Metu only played for 25 minutes, the fewest number of minutes for the starting 5. Was he ejected from the game ? if so, his departure might have sealed the loss.

  2. what is a slap on the back? and a tried to trip…these guys wrestle for 40 mins is that anything?

  3. Take your Sunshine Pumper specs off. Metu needs to apologize for his childish antics and learn to keep his emotions in check before the tournament.

  4. Like Johnny “Cheetin” Wooden used to say, if you ain’t cheetin’, you ain’t tryin'”. I thought the slap on the back was accidental. From my observation, It seemed to me he was trying to slap the ball but the Oregon player bent over and Metu hit him then.

    • Then why did he continue trash talking to the player that he hit and had to be restrained by teammates?

      • I was not right there with Metu when he hit the player, but to me from my seats, Metu looked exhasperated and was just barking at himself and at the ref.

    • Wow, that was a classic reach around, PT!
What John Wooden used to say was ” Now that we have eliminated SoCal again, who is the first team we play on our way to our next NCAA Championship?”
P.S. That’s MR. WOODEN to you, sir!

      • To me, he will always be just another mediocre basketball coach until he got “help” or payola from Sam Gilbert. He is no saint. You should have asked Tarkanian if Wooden was a Saint when he was at cal st. Long Beach. He would have said no. It was Wooden who turned the NCAA away from him and deflected them onto Tark. Please take off the state colored glasses and read objectively what Wooden did. No, he was no Saint, more like a con artist.

  5. True, and there are so many reasons no one would ever confuse SoCal basketball with Duke Basketball.
