Crazy Comment Of The Day

I’ve tried to ignore LaVar Ball, the father of UCLA guard Lonzo Ball, but it’s USC-UCLA week and I’ve had enough. Here’s what he told TMZ: “He’s going to be better than Steph Curry. Steph Curry’s really good, but my son is young, he’s got time to go. And you only consider him good because he won a couple of championships. What if he didn’t win no championships? He made some shots at the right time. But he’s not as young as my boy.”

How about beating USC first? Lonzo Ball had seven turnovers in the first meeting at the Galen Center. That doesn’t mean he is not going to be a great player. But no Steph Curry comparisons, please.

  1. According to Bruce Feldman at Fox Sports, Jeff Fisch the new OC over at UCLA is 1 of 4 interviewing for the Alabama OC.

  2. Dude, you just sank SCCCs chances of ever being any of the Ball family members. LaVar is pinning this to LaMelo’s locker as we speak. It’s going to be hilarious when he drops a half court 3 just for giggles next year. He’ll at least do Enfield the favor of pointing to the spot before shooting.

  3. Parents like Balls dad was one of the main reasons I left coaching. It got so old and no parent wanted to hear the truth.

  4. Flow finally throws a jab NOT at USC. Way to go, Flow! BTW, that kid’s dad is a dope. Maybe he could first start by acting like Curry’s dad. Then, maybe, maybe he’ll have a chance at coming close to Curry’s talent.

  5. So i take it Dad Ball or should i call him George Washington Duke from Rocky V already feels Lonzo is better than Russell Westbrook.

  6. LaVar Ball is a carnival barker. LaVar’s demeanor makes Lonzo’s attitude even more admirable because he is LaVar’s opposite in terms of ego and self-promotion.
LaVar is more of an O.J. than a Beban.

  7. Here’s a blurb about Mora from ‘bruins nation dot kom

“On the underachieving side, you have UC Berkeley. Let’s
face it: The Bear Raid strategy employed by Sonny Dykes was a disaster.
They didn’t have the right personnel for it. And, with Southern Cal, the team underachieved with both Kiffin and Sark. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise to see them both elsewhere.

That brings us to UCLA, a team whose on-field results has
clearly underachieved compared to their recruiting results. The excuses are aplenty. “Rosen played 5 games,” said Jim Mora to ESPN on National Signing Day. Mazzone left. The line has been terrible. Most of the defense was injured in 2015.

But, all the excuses in the world don’t change the fact
that Jim Mora has not accomplished as much at UCLA as he should have considering the amount of talent he has successfully recruited to UCLA and he needs to have a big season this coming year or he should be shown the door.”

  8. The dude needs to learn how to shut his pie hole. It is his son who is playing, not him. Let his son’s accomplishments speak for him, not his dude father.

  9. Reminds me of Serena and Venus Williams father comments earlier on in their careers. How did that work out?

  10. Ball seems like a great kid. His dad on the other hand seems like he is going to get himself in trouble with the NCAA one of these days…
