USC Morning Buzz: Let’s Look At Those NCAA Tournament Hopes

USC is currently ranked No. 68 in Ken Pomeroy’s rankings system, which can be found here. That’s not a great ranking. But it is not out of the question for a Pac-12 team with that ranking to make the NCAA Tournament: Oregon State was No. 60 last season; Colorado was No. 60 in 2014 and Stanford was No. 67 in 2007. They all made the NCAA Tournament.

Here’s something else to ponder this week for USC. The Trojans currently play Washington in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament on March 8. They also play Washington on Saturday at the Galen Center. That means two games vs. the Huskies in five days. No matter how bad Washington is, who wants to play the same team twice in five days?

  1. Blowing a 10 pt lead to a school under 500…they deserve NIT….lost too many players from last year; if it happens again this year …same result….what good did leaving early do? compared to what would have been…shallow people make shallow decisions.
