  2. If we can win two this week it could roll over into next week. UCLA is very beatable. When Little Alford thinks he’s mr. basketball and Lonzo thinks he’s Steph Curry they can be beat. We’ve proven we can beat them.

        • It might happen to f uucla in the first round. Even the best have off nights.

          • Remember Princeton bouncing f uucla in the first round in 96? Bruins were looking ahead and the defending national champs went down.

        • My most recent memory is a 32 point differential and a team that is winning, not choking against ASU. UCLA isn’t the same team that you saw in January.

          • So you are sticking with the Leaf injury as a pre-emptive strike? Ucla shouldn’t have to depend on him against USC correct?
            Also, what happened to Charlie Buckets?

          • I don’t know Charlie, so I wouldn’t know. We will see what happens to Leaf. He’s our leading scorer and his backup is a huge drop off. UCLA is vulnerable without Leaf. It changes our prospects in both tournaments significantly if he can’t play.

          • Ucla should beat SC if they meet. They’re strong right now. But i could see SC beating them if rebound and limit Welsh and Leafs 2nd chances. UCLA is peeking

          • SC is a competitive team. In the first game, Alford inexplicably went to 4 guards and had Welsh out of the game for long stretches. One issue that I have had with this team is not getting the ball to Welsh enough. Ball and Leaf feed the post well. The trio of other guards, not so much. There can be a tendency of shooting too many 3s early in the shot clock. They have done less of that lately. My fear is that without Leaf, they may fall back into that habit. We will see.

            If we utilize the bigs and continue to play good defense, we should win with or without Leaf. If we settle for too many 3s and they aren’t falling, the Bruins are beatable.

  3. Short tourney for SoCal in that case.
    Try to keep it under 30 this time.
    It should be interesting assuming you make it to the second game and then it will be interesting for about 8 minutes.
