USC Picture Of The Day

Here’s the 1966 USC-UCLA game at the Coliseum. USC fullback Mike Hull is carrying the ball on this play and rushed for 502 yards that season.

  1. Poll Time:

Odds on Chaz crawling out of “The Cadre’s” solitary confinement if, God forbid, USC loses a game next year?

Over/under on how many minutes until after that God forbidden loss that Chaz makes his first post?

  2. That miracle maker Norman Dow for bel-air tech that day – a true knife into McKay’s heart delivered by Tommy Prothro.

      • Would you swap the 1967 NCAA men’s basketball championship for the 1967 SC game and the football title?

    • No knife to heart. USC won the PAC-9 that season and gave Purdue all they could handle in the Jan 1, 1967 Rose Bowl Game. Packed stadium. well over 100,000. Tommy P and the bel-air tech team stayed home during the Bowl Season, a knife into Coach Prothro’s heart. FIGHT ON !!!

      • Well that’s your view – I remember how McKay had lost back-to-back to Prothro and regardless of the 1967 Rose Bowl against Purdue and Bob Griese

it was a dark dark time until we finally took bel-air tech down 50 years ago this November.

Prothro had out coached McKay and everyone knew it esp. McKay which was why the 1967 game was so critical for both programs. ucla has never ever truly recovered from that historic 1 point loss and it gave McKay his 2nd of 4 NC’s.

  3. Back when we ran the power I and let the so called fullback playing in front of the tailback be the first one through with the ball on a quick hitter. Good times!!!! Miss the “I”. Today’s one back set or side by side set doesn’t have that punch of a running blocker in front of the ball carrier.

  4. It’s basketball season, BoyTroys.
I know you guys are anxious to try to match our winning streak in football against you at 4 (or 8) but that won’t happen.
Until then you can look forward to your normal one & done in NCAA and the long circle jerk you do until September.
    Happy hibernation.
