If you think playing Notre Dame at night and then flying back and having a road game at Arizona State is no big deal, here’s some thoughts of Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez on a similar subject in 2015.
“I just found out that the game at Washington is at night, so we will get back at 5 in the morning. I just don’t understand how this happens when you play 12 straight games, then you play night road games and then we are going to play an 8 p.m. road game at Washington, get back at 5 in the morning and then have to go back on the road again.
“If the conference is really concerned about student-athlete welfare, I think someone should step in, because when do guys get a chance to get healthy? They are not getting treatments on the plane. They can try to sleep, but they are not getting a whole lot of rest when they are traveling. It is just ridiculous in my opinion.”
Sounds like there needs to be a College Athletes Association that advocate for players. Coaches seem powerless. ADs, and Univ. Presidents could care less and the Networks just want to make a ton of dough.
I just read Will Ferrell is this year’s Commencement Speaker. I can’t wait for Wolf’s reaction, poof!
He’s perfect, the degree is a joke.
Ucla has James Franco (who i like), USC has Will Ferrell.
Ferrell wins that one on one in his sleep.
You mean they are both corny actors who both make bad movies?
They are my generation i guess.
Funny, but I was thinking the same thing about you, except without the humor.
Well on the 21st October the only other matchups that are a bit intriguing are KS @ OK, TX @ OK St., PA St @ MI, TN @ AL, Auburn @ AR and OR @ ucla the rest of the national power houses have either boring mismatches (WI – MD, IA – Northwestern, or a ‘bye’: WA, OH St. , NE, TX A&M, sooooo
telecasting this @ 4:30 pm PDT (7:230 pm EDT) is a guaranteed Nilson bonanza just as the Rose Bowl is every year – BTW when The Princess plays out here it starts @ 4:30 pm PST and no on seems to complain that it used to start @ 12:00 pm
Penn State vs Michigan will be huge.
You’re right MI opens against FL as USC did against AL – in Arlington-TX on 2nd Sept. the rest of their games leading up to PA St. is minimal. PA St. is @ IA 23rd Sept. the rest before and after are very weak opponents same for MI.
