USC Post-Practice Notes

The starting tackles are currently Chuma Edoga and Roy Hemsley. Toa Lobendahn is not cleared for full contact but when he returns either he and Nico Falah will compete at center with the other one moving to guard. Of course, Lobendahn can also play tackle if necessary.

Clay Helton noted the offensive line is quicker now that it is smalller without Damien Mama and Zach Banner.

Helton after watching film of new QB Jack Sears’ first practice: “He looked like a kid in his first practice (Tuesday) but he has big talent. What was evident is his poise and arm talent.”

Cornerback Jack Jones has intercepted two passes in the first two practices. Helton said Jones would play offense at some point. Although linebacker Olajuwon Tucker is back on the roster after being ineligible for the Rose Bowl, Helton said he would participate in spring practices to focus on academics.

USC’s first scrimmage will be practice No. 6, which is March 25.

  1. The blogger is always keen to point out which QB’s throw INT’s in practice, but not this time?

  2. So Tucker will participate in spring practices to focus on academics?

    Makes sense

  3. If Choma Edoga can play his 2017 OT position with good technique, intensity, stamina, and smarts for 60 minutes, our Trojan Offensive Line will dominate making it possible for a Trojan Offense to flourish, Big Time.
