ESPN Knocks USC Out Of NCAA

ESPN’s NCAA bracket expert, Joe Lunardi, has USC as the first team out of his field today. Lunardi has Syracuse, Wake Forest, Kansas State and Rhode Island as his final four teams in the field. This is at odds with Jerry Palm, who has USC as a No. 9 seed.

      • Surely you have heard of East Coast Bias in the Selection Committee? They live for chances to stick it to the Pac 12. Enfield gave them the opening with the ASU loss and we had to win 2 tournament games to overcome the bad pub. Meanwhile Syracuse gets the benefit of the doubt because of their tradition of NCAA championships with Jim Boeheim.

        • Exactly right about the tradition, when was the last PAC 12 team in the final four. Perception is reality. It’d be nice if we were more pro conference, like the ACC, SEC, etc., lobbying for our other teams, but in the end, post-season results would go a long way toward inclusion.

          • I hope we stil make it today but we were a shoe in until we blew that 10 point lead with 2 minutes left against the Sun Devils.

  1. Well then there’s ESPN hemorrhaging 100K’s, they’re sacking over1,000 and the ‘pc’ culture there is all coming home to roost.

  2. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology doesn’t mention Utah or California. No mention whatsoever. Joe, you ESPN East Coast Communist Dragoon, you let your geographic bigotry overload everything that you stand for. Typical. BTW, you posted USC as the first team out.

    • First off, Lunardi doesn’t know squat. He has no more idea than you or me.

      • My question is, shoe does usc lose to in the first round? Joe didn’t mention who usc will lose to.

        • I’m not sure if SC is in or not. If you get in, it’s all about the matchup. I think the tourney is wide open. No dominant team.

SC is in a strange position. Both Cal and Utah finished ahead of you guys. That doesn’t help. Your record down the stretch hurts as well. It’s a crapshoot. You played better before Boatwright rejoined the team.

      • 88, Joe going out of his way to post our Trojans as First Team Out I thought was a pointed slap at the Trojans. Just bein’ a Jerk.

  3. Good news: It saves you the pain of another one-and-done in the tournament.
You can now spend 6 months breathing heavily about your football depth chart and watching the LA Times rap sheet every day to see which of your players are in trouble with Utah or LA PD.

  4. Say goodnight, Gracie…
With your history of one-and-done performances, I’m guessing The Committee decides to give it to someone more hungry and more compliant.
