On The Freshmen Receivers

Velus Jones had a 40-yard reception today in USC’s first scrimmage. But among the freshmen, there hasn’t been a lot of separation among the freshmen. Michael Pittman played a little bit last year so he was ahead of most of the others. And Jones is small but speedy. But otherwise the rest of the group’s been pretty quiet dating back to last fall.

I’d say Pittman and Jones will play for sure next season. After that, it’s undetermined.

  1. Among the freshman there hasn’t been a lot of separation among the freshman….got it.

  2. I’m feeling good about these guys, I think that by fall they’ll start to be on the same page. Reading coverages and reacting is easy, but reading the coverage and seeing the same thing as the about takes practice. It, much like the rest of our lives is a process, and I have great faith in both Vaughns and Imatorbebe.

    • Talented group of receivers that can only get better. Its their time to shine. Sam will always throw to the open receiver including the tightends.

      • BTW, his into today was a deflection off the receiver and a db, not to worry, life is good, Darnold is better..

        • I must admit the defense looks great. They look physically bigger. Cook has figured it out. Hopefully ten or more interceptions on season for the defense.

  3. Scooter, were at the practice? Pitman is not short, he is around 6’1″. Vaughns caught a td

  4. Receivers look good. Db’s are like sharks smelling blood and are dominating. Jamal Cook had another interception and a lber had one
