USC Quick Thought

Does USC wide receiver Isaac Whitney have a chance to get drafted? Clay Helton mentioned yesterday that Sam Darnold is adjusting to new receivers now that JuJu Smith-Schuster, Darreus Rogers, DeQuan Hampton and Whitney are gone.

Well, Hampton was a bit player last season and Whitney caught three passes all season. So maybe it isn’t that big of an adjustment for Darnold. What will be interesting is to see if Whitney’s draft status improves now that teams are more aware of him.

  1. He’s a perfect example of a player that should have seen the writing on the wall, because players need to look at the big picture as far as playing time goes. Because coaches will con recruits for the sake of developing a deep depth chart

    • Lots of players don’t let depth charts determine their lives.

There are many other factors to consider and you may as well find out where you stack up talent-wise.

For some kids, being on the Trojans is more important than starting some place else.

Plus you never know just who will jump out and become that prospect who beats out the higher-ups or bigger names, like Darnold totally eclipsing 5* Browne.

    • Such negativity, I haven’t heard him complaining, although I did see him proudly displaying his diploma.
I’m assuming you weren’t in the meetings or at all the practices to hear the con that was put on this kid, where did you come up with this?

    • I love Pro Days, it gives the NFL an opportunity to see players like Isaac showcase their gifts and talents. A DIAMOND in the rough.
