Former USC star wide receiver Mike Williams came to practice Saturday and told me he will earn his degree this year. Williams is also the head football coach at Van Nuys High School.

Fight on!
great job Mike
A cautionary tale for sure: Look before you leap!! Would have been a fine receiver in his Junior year but tried to jump to the NFL when the courts ruled that the NFL couldn’t block underclassmen from declaring for the draft. The NCAA didn’t take kindly to the students jumping and the NFL got the ruling reversed leaving him out in the cold for a season. Still his draft number wasn’t too bad.
I am glad he has come back to finish what he started and Van Nuys High has a great coach.
