  1. Same air balls. Max will be intercepted a lot until he stops playing high school football. Awful glad we have Sam.

    • I believe Darold was intercepted 10 times this spring. What is Browne’s number of spring interceptions?

      • Against the Pitt defense? Who cares. Wait till he plays Penn Sate —that’ll be a better time to compare him to Sam.

        • So bozo u spring Int stats vs Pitt int stats isn’t a fair comparison?

“Who cares,” isn’t that what bozo u said before the humiliating, come from ahead, Boston Massacre loss?

          • The people in Vegas seem to know a thing or 2 when it comes to predicting future performance in sports. What are Browne’s heisman odds? Darnold’s?

          • Absolutely, they had Alabama walking all over bozo u last year.

But the chances Darnold wins the Heisman is a different story. There are too many variables affecting a Heisman season to accurately predict a winner in the off season.

  2. Hate to say it, but if Max Browne was our QB, USC would never have gotten close to the Rose Bowl and we’d be ranked #20-25 right now. He just didn’t have what it took for USC. Very glad he hooked up with PITT and has another shot.

    • What I don’t understand is why we recruited him in the first place. Forget about how many stars he’s got after his name —-any quarterback coach should’ve been able to tell he doesn’t have a fast ball. Sam can shoot a ball to the back of the end zone from the 30 yard line. So, what’s the difference? Lots of touchdowns.

      • Evaluation is clearly tricky because even the best coaches make huge errors. I don’t know why they offered Leinart either – not a strong arm. But his intangibles made all the difference.

Lots of examples out there of guys with bullet arms and no game in college. It’s all part of the magic of putting together a great team. All kinds of strengths and weaknesses, but what does it all add up to in the end is what matters.

      • That QB coach was Clay Helton. Also Lane Kiffin was the HC. The thinking was different on how to run a offense. Kiffin was basically running a Norm Chow offense with the fullback lined up as a H-back. Times were changing thanks to Rich Tod and really changed with Chip Kelly. In comes Sark with a Read Option. He feels Kessler is better to run the offense and the rest is history. Max became a dinosaur.
