Colin Cowherd Attended USC Scrimmage, So Of Course USC Is Playing For National Title

Colin Cowherd is the biggest USC fan of any national media member. And readers will remember his famous Washington-has-no-chance lecture the day the Huskies upset USC at the Coliseum.

Cowherd attended Saturday’s scrimmage and of course immediately figured out “that team’s gonna play for the national title. That’s the best defense since Pete Carroll.”

He figured that out off a “scrimmage” that was actually a glorified practice where Sam Darnold threw six passes. But that is why he is a genius. I’m sure these comments will make his USC friends (including those in the media who suck up to him) happy.

  1. I heard Cowherd say that yesterday and can’t believe this blog post took another 24 or so hours to appear.

  2. This opinion was formed based on attending practices and talking to coaches and players. You should try it or just stick to giving street closure info.

        • How come he never mentions bel-air tech? Just sayin’ to you owns why is it no one ever goes or comments about Mora and the brewies?

          • Owns spends more time on USC football than all UCLA fans combined spend on nobody cares Bruins.
            #envyisapowerfuldrug

          • He never has any self-deprecating retorts towards himself or ever towards bel-air tech ever – I don’t know any of those clowns that do. The worst is that ’66 guns’ …. good night it’s ‘wooden is god’ 24/7 ‘we’re solidly moving forward with Mora’ insight and esp. ‘barakska is the best ever as are alll demokratiche’ progressive commie goofiness

          • Allie,
I have read your post and can picture you now, having passed out in a pool of saliva after barely finishing this nearly incomprehensible drivel. Sleep tight and stay away from sharp objects until you sleep it off, Hemingway.

          • Gosh Squirt you’re so vicious when wet – about as vicious as a warm, 12 oz can of Busch Bavarian beer, date coded April, 1973.

          • If there any sight more pathetic than a bruin troll spending most of his waking hours on a USC board?

          • Dude you’re drinking stall Beer again. Get to a meeting fast you’ll be swigging mouthwash in no time at all. One day at a time.

  3. I’ve never a member of the media get under the skin of another as much as Cowherd has with SW. Too funny. This is fun to watch and i’s gonna go on, and on, and on.

I love how Colin ignores SW and wonder if ever the worm will turn because Colin has such a huge national audience and is never afraid to take on any challenger. Would be great to see.

  4. I don’t get it. I mean I understand that for a reporter to be unbiased he or she must remain neutral. I know there are many reporters who honk for their favorite team. But I never heard a journalism class lecture that said “Thou shalt bash the team you cover.” even though I have been reading USC beat reporters for a long time I cannot honestly remember on who hated the team so cynically as one who showed up in the Press Enterprise this morning. (Oh that was Scott?…fa’gedd about it)

  5. Cowherd sees what many here have been stating – looks like a good ramp up from last year esp. with neither OR or WA on the regular season schedule and Stanford early. Save for ‘The Princess’ that is the sole toughest road game. Get past ‘the princess’ on the 21st October and auto pilot time.

  6. Scooter, he observed more in one semi practice than you have since you have covered USC. SC will have a very good defense. Yo on the other hand say they don’t, until they win a Rose Bowl or national championship. Just don’t join the bandwagon when they start to win.

  7. dude …..you are such a negative person gotta be tough to wake up every morning

  8. CC has creepy eyebrows. In my opinion he is not trustworthy and most probably an extraterrestrial of some kind.
He gets more grease than Pat Haden or Swanny ever paid any of their Women’s team coaches.
The Wolfman is, as usual, unwavering in his diligent quest to expose media princesses like C. Coward

  9. Cowheard has a tendency to get carried away, but did it ever occur to our esteemed blogger that perhaps Colin really thinks SC has a great defense and could be a playoff contender this year? I do believe more people have forgotten Colin Cowherd’s name than have heard of Scott Wolf.

  10. Colin is a big SC fan but as much as I think this team is going to be strong its still early. Might be worth a mid Fall Camp update. Injuries happen and if they stay healthy and this defense keeps getting stronger in year two of CP its all possible!
