        • Maybe he wanted to play for the best coach in history. Many kids came to SC to play for McKay. They did fairly well financially by certain coaches and alumni. It is my belief that nobody came to SC because of the other benefits anymore than anyone went to Westwood because of Sam Gilbert. They wanted to win.

Big Lew was also an Academic All-American and the best college player of all time. So, there’s that.

  1. Poor soul – he knows they lost the book fair 5+ years ago because they hadn’t a clue on how to get participants and presenters up and back to their campus – traffic anywhere near Westwood is horrific truly a mess – voila – to USC they went!

Good to see him at USC!

    • The Festival of Books replaced the f uuclan’s tradition of Mardi Gras 22 years ago after the student committee stupidly advertised the event all over the city and attracted violent gangs that showed up and terrorized the crowd and the local community. It was truly a low moment in their history.

      • marvgoux1 I never knew that – hmmm wonder why isn’t the same visited upon USC? Far closer to the ‘ratas’ ‘warrens’ of breeding and infusing than the westside of elitist demokratiche arbeit Garcetti ‘festiveness’ enabling land….oh wait that’s over in WEHO…something Garcetti knows too well i.e. ‘don’t touch me there…not ready to ‘reveal…not yet yet…not yet!…boy does that ‘player’ know or what?

It is definitely easier to ‘shut down’ the entrances to USC as opposed to bel-air tech and the main reason is they will unlike the left enabling ‘boys will be hoodlums’ mindset of the left….after all the dems controlled state legislature no longer allow any suspension of ‘thugs’ from any school because those ‘dems’ don’t teach and have never seen the inside of ‘Camp Scudder’ and what their insane policies have wrought these past 40 years – go left! Go destruction!

“Jack our Jack…if..only….Bobbie…Teddie…..Lord Bentsen…Jimmah….Barakska…La Bruja…..Liz Warren….who’ll show us the way? If only

      • BS Goop. As usual, you’re FOS and spreading bozo u swill.

Why not do something constructive for a change and help the “Rump” locate his Very Powerful Armada.

        • Instead of spewing your usual nonsense and hatred of our president, why don’t you put down your bottle of muscatel, Google “UCLA Mardi Gras” and find out from the UCLA Daily Bruin and other references from that day that I am completely accurate?

          • What Accuracy are you claiming Goop?

Accuracy to a bozo u Rah-Rah is a euphemism for a “Who’s on First” routine.

I’m curious Goop, ever been to the Festival of Books? What respectable violent gang member would be caught dead at the FoB’s?

Literacy is not a prerequisite to join a violent gang.

I’m betting you could count the number of bozo u FB players attending the FoB’s on one finger – unless, hanging out the was worth 5 Enquish units.

          • You really are drunk. Let me explain it one more time for you, slowly:

            1. f uucla used to have a small manageable local charity event called Mardi Gras the last week of April for decades. The student clubs and Greeks had game booths and put on shows. Very nice and wholesome. f uucla donated the proceeds to a summer camp for poor kids.

            2. Then some stupid f uuclan students who ran the event got the bright idea that bigger must be better. They decided to advertise in the worst parts of LA and the Valley to bring in huge numbers of young people.

            3. All it did was change the original flavor of the event from a safe, small manageable collegiate crowd to an unruly mob of teens. It attracted gang members from all over LA and the Valley who don’t get along with each other. It eventually became so dangerous they had to stop it and they replaced it with the Festival of Books.

            4. End of gang problem, but also end of f uulcan tradition.

            5. Then the Festival of Books abandoned f uucla and now you have NOTHING!

            Got it, f uuclan?

          • This event, The Festival of Books is a Los Angeles Times event. It was at UCLA for several years and a few years ago it was moved to USC. Perhaps because of proximity or perhaps because of the USC School of Journalism being successful over the years of supplying reporters to the Times. I don’t recall any violence around this event at either site ever being reported.

          • You misread what marv wrote, he said the book festival replaced Mardi Gras 22 years ago. After 17 years in Westwood it was moved to USC 5 years ago.

          • Actually, I wasn’t. But then you can’t read. What I wrote was factually correct. What Troy clarified was additional information. I’m sure you don’t understand things that involve books and reading.

You are getting even more desperate and have no life. Bed time for Baby Rod. Are you now an SC grad?

          • Actually you were WRONG. You misunderstood that marvgoux1 was talking about the violence from Mardi Gras. Your dumb brain thought he was referring to the Festival of Books.

Quit making excuses and trying to change the subject which is what you always do when proven wrong. Just for once admit you were WRONG and I would ease up on your sorry butt.

          • You are right, look at poor Billy Joe Jackson. He could not read or write but he went to Thug U aka ugly

          • He can’t because the library is closed and he hasn’t had a bath in two weeks. The library won’t let him in to use the computer

    • If you mean wearing the UCLA hat, it strikes me as provocative in an immature way.

So far as commitment to excellence in his amateur/pro careers, how can anyone not respect him? That rarest of freaks: the supremely talented overachiever.

  2. Lew Alcindor is a total putz. He looks like an idiot in those socks! This a neutral event that happens to be held on USC campus. What has he done for society since his playing days. The first one of many that were paid under the table by Sam Gilbert with driving a Mercedez Benz and father getting a janitor job from NY to come to L.A. Interesting that nobody wanted him as a coach college or pro.

  3. Take it easy on Kareem…..It must be very depressing for him that Alonzo Ball’s Shoe Deal will be larger than Kareem’s total salary in his career.

  4. Changing the subject yet again. Same old pattern. You are proven WRONG and you know it so you change the subject.

In addition, explain the banning process. You obviously cannot. This is why the UCLA program is cursed. It’s because of dummies and babies like you. Plain and simple.

You and other UCLA fans get completely slaughtered by me so your only solution is banning. LOL!! Grow up. Never knew how UCLA fans could be so childish and insecure.
