USC athletic director Lynn Swann bought a house in Hancock Park for $3.08 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. The house has a waterfall and a saltwater swimming pool. It’s good to be athletic director.

Stalker much?
Success sucks, doesn’t it? So does the green eyed monster…
AD Lynn Swann was 4 time WR starter on the 4 time NFL Champion Pittsburg Steelers, He is a Member of the NFL Hall Of Fame. He ran for the Senate in Pennsylvania as a Republican. SW, Mr. Swann earned it. Nice house.
What did he earn except money from the Steelers. He has no experience as an athletic administrator. Getting paid sure good money to learn on the job is the way it is today with celebs in sport. Interesting that he bought in Hancock Park not in Pasadena where Nikias lives or Orange County with his Republican buddies.
While I believe the comment is about the fact that Swann earned the money to buy a house being a professional football player. He earned a degree in public relations and has been on the board of directors for several major companies. He knows what he is doing even if he hasn’t been an A.D. before. He’s no tackling dummy like the last one was.
He wisely avoided the west side or that other sinkhole of faux success Manhattan Beachsole problem w. Hancock Park is access to the 101 or 10 and when you get there it’s usually a parking lot but it beats the west side anytime any how.
$3 million gets you a fixer upper on the Westside these days. It’s out of control.
88, you are kidding. A 1200 square foot house in the west side is $1.2 million. Back in the 60’s it was worth $30k
In my neighborhood, the south side of SM, a tear down is now going for 1.5. North of Montana, the dirt is $3-4. New construction is $6-$10. It’s nuts.
Google has a remarkable discourse of Lynn Swann’s life after football. Served for 30 years at Big BrothersBigSisters of America, served as their President from 1993-95, managing over 900 different agencies. George W. Bush appointed LS Chairman of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition where LS served from 2002 to 2005, years when he wasn’t CEO of Wall Street Corporations of serving on Board of Directors. BTW, my mistake. Lynn Swann ran for Governor of Pennsylvania, not the Senate. Old Trojan, when the Republican Party asked LS to be the states Governor, don’t you know he must of had an extraordinary Resume. Don’t you know ?
Looks kinda small, He would have done better in Whittier… 😀
Success can be fruitful Scott,
You should try it.
Why hasn’t the Swann’s “I tripped at the Coachella Valley Music Festival and you didn’t,” pix been published?
Speaking of unsuccessful.

Guess the Daily News doesn’t pay all that well. But sharing a one bedroom with three other beat reporters can’t be all that bad, can it?
These administrators pay themselves well. Pat Haden was the highest paid AD in the country and probably the worst. But when it comes to spending money on the football program, they’re not in the same universe with Alabama, LSU, Ohio State and Michigan. I do think that Swann will do what he is told to do and not rock the boat just as Haden did. Why risk a job that can buy you a house has a waterfall and a saltwater swimming pool.
Small backyard?
