Will USC React To McNair Case?

What happens if the NCAA settles or loses the Todd McNair case? Will USC do anything legally to reclaim the vacated victories or seek an apology from the NCAA? Or will USC simply “move on” from the sanctions?

  1. Wouldn’t a professional journalist ask those tough questions of the university that someone claims to be “inside” of….?

    • Yeah he would – same would have, by now nearly a full year later, inquired about by now about Haden. Heck TJ Simers would have which is why I miss him.

  2. They will move on. Don’t think Nikas cares. He wants to keep it all in the rear view mirror.

    • I have never seen a university president so afraid of the NCAA as Max. Must be something the NCAA has on either
      Max or Pat.

  3. Never let it go. That’s the attitude of Haden maybe. At least restore the vacated victories and championships and sue them for 100 million.

      • Haden would not stand up to or fight the NCAA. I thought we should have fought them more vigorously.

  4. No…. and that will be pretty much the answer to any reporters asking the question if McNair does win his case. Max Nikias will not go down as a great supporter of USC football compared to previous USC presidents.

  5. They’ll do nothing. Those BoT’s don’t care about the football program. Some of them(particularly the ones who are part of the university as department heads and high up officials at USC) are probably jealous. They think “I have my PhD and those coaches are just glorified jocks…..why are they making more money than me”.

  6. Ship has sailed, long ago actually. USC is no longer interested. BOTs always ran scared here.

Plus, Reggie never helped. Nothing’s changed there either.

  7. The “will USC” question is much less interesting than the “should USC” question. They absolutely should go to court to reclaim the victories and an apology. Further, they should seek compensatory and punitive damages. Won’t be tough to prove those things.

  8. Man, it would show some real balls to go after the NCAA, a real statement. Will they? Probably not.

  9. USC had better seek all of your options, Scott. So much time has passed that we forget how damaging the sanctions really were to the program. As long as McNair’s case is alive so is USC’s. Press forward, USC!

  10. The NCAA was always going to give all the junk they took away back because the whole thing was a sham. SC should’ve sued, but wanted to be classy, I would have owned the NCAA if I was president of the USC. They would be playing the NCUSC championship game in 2018, that’s how bad I would’ve stuck those SOBs. They’re even gonna represent the Heisman to Reggie Bush, probably have OJ do it when he gets out in 2060.
