Are Browns Planning For Sam Darnold?

The Browns didn’t think they needed to take a QB yesterday. So does that mean they are holding off to take Sam Darnold next year? Would anyone want to wish that on Darnold? Remember Coach Hue Jackson’s famous comment after taking Cody Kessler in the third round last year: “You have to trust me on this one.” Um, that’s OK.

  1. Kessler is a good kid with a real job. More than I can say for you, Comic Book Guy.

    • Kessler was and is a great Trojan, brought us through tough times and did it without complaints or excuses. Maybe he didn’t have the strongest arm, but he gave what he had and I’m glad for him to be making a little money. And from what I understand, until he gets beat out, he’s still starting for the Browns.

        • Guy played for 5 different coaches, beat out two 5 star recruits, played on teams that fielded under 50 scholarship players and everyone wants to put him down? WTH?

          Fight On!

  2. Browns just got out guessed. They are still tryining to get Jimmy from the Patriots.

  3. Kessler actually had a good rookie year, with a 92.3 efficiency rating, which would’ve put him in the top half of the league among QBs had he played enough games to qualify.

But, of course, the blogger is never one to let facts get in the way of his preferred narrative.

  4. Just hear that Nike, addidas, and under armour just passed on Lonzo, due to his father’s insistence they license the BBB brand, what a piece of work.

  5. Kessler deserves a lot more respect Wolf. He went through some very tough times, was not the glamour boy from OC, and gave USC everything he had. Better than what I could say for you.

    • Good kid – stand-up guy but no, considering his inability to ‘not’ look off his intended receiver, he’s been very fortunate having that gig even with the Browns.

CLE maybe everything people say about them – all I know truly great HOF players emerge and by sheer mettle win – OJ did it with the Bills and suddenly made them winners and Darnhold has that skill set.

  6. No, they’re not. They just drafted Kizer…. They figure Darnold won’t be in next year’s draft, I guess.

  7. San Diego is planning to tank this year to secure home town hero Josh Rosen #1 overall to lead them in their new home in LA. Darndold will be available later, probably a third round pick once they get a look at that long throwing motion.

    • Yea they that would be a match made in heaven, him and spanos, what a pair…and they’re used to prima donas qbs that can’t win when it counts..good call

    • Rosen won’ t be drafted after they peel him off the floor of the Coliseum this November.

    • If the chargers draft Rosen, it will be another 14 years of FUTILITY for the chargers. They can’t be that stupid

  8. The Browns just drafted the Notre Dame Kizer project quarterback. They are not going to be able to draft Darnold; nor may they have the desire to do so if Kizer works out for them

Still, my rooting interest is Kessler, although he would not be my betting favorite.

      • I think Kizer will be gone from Cleveland in two years from now after they draft that kid from USC and they will have their very first franchise QB, you know, Sam Darnold?
