USC Changes Some Names Of Entrances/Parking Structures

USC changed the names of all its campus entrances and parking structures today. For example, Gate 1 is now called Watt Way Entrance. Parking Structure A is now called the Downey Way Structure. This might be the first time in recent memory USC’s changed some names without a donor paying to get their name on it.

  1. It does make a bit more sense to name an entrance after a specific street rather than a generic number.

OT – down on the CSULB campus they don’t have any internal street signage so if you are attempting to direct someone to drive to a specific intersection and aren’t familiar with the campus you can’t. Was there on a field trip with a group of kids and we couldn’t direct the bus to move to a new pick-up location as there were no signs to confirm actual location. Asked a campus police man why there were no signs and he replied ‘Well this is Anaheim St..” Which prompted another teacher to ask “How would we know that?” CSULB is a big campus a lot bigger than USC.
