A Pre-Meditated Media Bounce

Lane Kiffin used to tell me he needed publicity of any kind at Tennessee. He must feel the same way at Florida Atlantic. He got the intended effect yesterday with his scholarship offer to Tee Martin’s 13-year-old son. And Martin, who also likes media attention, gets everyone to ask him about his son. So everyone is happy today after 24 hours of viral media. And no one will care five years from now if Kiffin is still at Florida Atlantic or Martin’s son even plays quarterback.

  1. Can’t blame either of them (Kiffin – Tee Martin) – and I agree I sincerely doubt any of the parties cited are anywhere near FL Atlantic 5 years hence – if so someones career went straight into a toilet.

  2. Perhaps the blogger should run his Baby Quarterback schtick around a parent who sees him on the regular.

  3. Old news. Slow on the uptake. Obvious the moment my iPhone notified name and age.

    • You think he’s really angry? I just thought he was disturbed…deeply disturbed.

  4. Let’s agree to back off of that “no one”. You’ll be beating this dead horse for the better part of a decade. I’m sure we’ll have regular updates on “The Baby Coacher-Back” or “Pee Wee Tee Martin”.

The amusing take on all this is the preposterous notion that Lane Kiffin would even be at FAU 5 years from now. He’s on his 4th head coaching gig and he’s only 42. Even money on whether he gets fired or bails the second he coaches FAU to a 3rd tier bowl, but he’ll be gone inside of a car lease.

  5. Wow I pointed this out a few days ago. And you guys said Wolf didn’t read the comments. Well I guess I need to stop mocking him on this forum. Maybe Charlie will get his back for us.
