University Of Summer Construction

Does USC ever allow for a summer without construction inconveniences? Here’s today’s memo:

“The Watt Way Entrance (formerly Entrance 1) on Exposition Blvd. at Watt Way closed on Monday, May 15th, and will remain closed through July 28th.  To access the southwest corner of campus, please use the Downey Way Entrance (Entrance 6) on Vermont, which is now a 24-hour entrance to campus.

The Royal Street Entrance (Entrance 4) will be closing this Thursday, May 18th, and will remain closed through August 12th.  To access the north half of campus, please use the McClintock Ave. Entrance (Entrance 5), which remains a 24-hour entrance.  Please note the McClintock Ave. Entrance is the only access point for 34th Street – we will not be allowing traffic through the bus gate on Figueroa Street.”
Just another typical summer.

  1. Every school goes through these growing pains, Flow. From elementary schools to colleges. Would you rather inconvenience everyone while actual school is in session and there’s thousands upon thousands of people everywhere? Wait, don’t answer. I already know what you’d say.

  2. I could only imagine the wailing of this blogger if they did construction during football season. Exactly when are they supposed to build the Josh Shaw High Jump pit?

    • Just like ugly building the Billy Joe Jackson school of reading and writing.

      • Or the saso jamambo dirt track raceway, where you can run from the campus cops while screaming ” oh no, my career is over!”

    • Didn’t Sam Gilbert provide a endowment for bRuins players girlfriends “medical” needs?

      • No they named a scholarship after he and his wife ‘Rose’ – Angela Davis – flat out ‘red’ has one also – bel-air tech truly the epitome of the ‘white left’

          • You mean ‘Sam’? That thug – he financed the ‘Bicycle Club’ over on Firestone and the 710 with KC mob money. Federal So. District Court – Miami handed down an indictment for he and his son. Sam died 23rd November 1987 – 4 days after the indictment. The son was later tried and convicted for daddy’s sins – typical ‘white left’ crook never had to face actual penalties.

  3. I agree Scott – much better if we had a summer without any inconveniences and instead scheduled these needed infrastructure improvement projects in the fall during homecoming and in the spring during graduation ceremonies

  4. Always a cut. Sad. It’s a school when should they do construction ????

  5. Scooter, you being a socialist because you follow soccer, that is the smell of money being made. Every time a construction job comes along, that creates construction jobs, that creates a building where there will be work to be done in the building which will create more jobs. Scooter, you don’t get it, USC makes and wants to make money. The reason soccer is a socialist event is because when you can win a game with a tied score, there is no actual winner. They just want everything to be equal and fair. It does not sit right with people who want to improve themselves.

  6. What a classic Wolf post – criticizing SC for doing something that makes complete sense and every other college in the world does.
