L.A. To Get 2028 Olympics?

Paris would get the 2024 Olympics and Los Angeles the 2028 Games according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. I like this plan because it means USC won’t go through all the disruptions for at least 10 years, like Dedeaux Field becoming a swim stadium. And the Coliseum will remain unchanged for at least a few years after the renovation.

  1. Tgis seems to be the move – Paris wants to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the last time they hosted the Olympiad (1924) but man oh man they better get ready for some big time terrorist activity.

It’s kind of a shame that the new soccer stadium can’t be built as a multi-purpose stadium for baseball/soccer.

  2. Dominic Davis was named the 5th fastest player in college football. They had his personal best posted on 247 but he’s a legitimate 4.3 easy. Remember Sultan McCullough?

  3. Wow talk about pressure. Sports Illustrated made a list of the top 20 players in the NFL this season with the most pressure and Adoree Jackson was the ONLY ROOKIE ON THE LIST….

    Fight On Adoree!!!!!!!!

    • As much as I love Adoree, especially his returning skills and versatility, I’d say he’s under huge pressure because he’s gonna have to prove a tremendous amount as a cover corner since he was routinely beat in college by bigger WRs who handled him for long TDs.

  4. Scooter, where did you get your information about the baseball field being turned into a swim stadium?

    • The LA Times (as well as many other reports) had an article on this. not sure I can include links any more, but the Aug 27, 2016 article stated “The temporary swim stadium would be built in and around USC’s baseball facility, Dedeaux Field.”

  5. Yes, the pill box will still be there for the Olympics and long after our Sun becomes dormant.
