Morning Buzz: USC Moves To No. 4 In Directors’ Cup Standings

USC moved up a spot in the latest Directors’ Cup standings, which added men’s and women’s golf, women’s and men’s lacrosse, rowing and softball. Baseball and track and field remain so the Trojans could finish in the top 3. That would be a good finish but probably not as high as hoped when you consider beach volleyball was almost a lock to win a national title and some other sports were title contenders.

The top five are below:

1. Stanford 1556.75

2. Ohio State 1376.75

3. Michigan 1144.75

4. USC 1112.75

5. North Carolina 1104.00

    • Nor does USC have bowling or women’s ice hockey. But, those are a part of the points. Oh, but not beach volleyball. Director’s Cup = Ignorable

      • Or men’s ice hockey, or men’s cross country or gymnastics or wrestling or softball

  1. Stanford fields more teams than most schools, this whole thing is stupid

    • True – and ALL their athletes – at least those whose parents make under 100K – are on scholarship – they have no limits bc it’s a blanket rule (athletes & non-athletes treated the same). Trojan baseball, for example, is severely hampered vis a vis The Farm because of it.
