More On Matt Corral

One reason I doubted Matt Corral’s commitment to USC would stick was because he reminded me of Tate Martell. Lots of drama and maybe not a lot of contentment.

Martell actually committed to three schools and always seemed to want the perfect situation, which does not exist. Now USC seems to have backed off on Corral but the way it happened is so sloppy, I doubt this is some well-executed plan. More like a decision that was debated and then suddenly implemented. Kind of like when Sam Darnold was finally named the starter.

If USC really had thought this out for a long time, it would have been working hard behind the scenes on other QBs. Not offering Jack Tuttle this morning.

  1. Tuttle’s in play.

But I don’t remember the blogger calling his shot at the plate?

    • Interestingly enough, Tuttle says he was offered Friday, and was told then that Corral was moving on. Tuttle says he’s solid with Utah. Period. We’ll see.

      • Confirms that Helton told Corral to look elsewhere. Tuttle may just be showing Utah the respect right now. Like you said we’ll see.

        • Helton’s prided himself on being honest with recruits, all the kids say the same thing. How’d it look if he had set the kid up, not good. He was up front and honest and waited until the decision was made before going out to find the next kid.
Could he have made the decision earlier, sure. But there’s plenty of time between now and nsd.

        • Are we to assume Sammy, that Coach Helton has verbally confirmed to you, your conclusion is valid.

I mean 5 hours ago, you admitted you were clueless re: Corral’s decommitment.

You’re quite the Deputy Dawg, Toejam investigator.

          • Funny that, nobody at Clemson G’s a S what a P-12 south, third place, self described RB Champ is. “Snoozers.”

          • I can’t take a Bruins opinions serious at all. Maybe a Duck or a Stanford fan, but not a Bruin who has nothing but losing on his resume.

          • Resistance to what Phil? Need a ticket?

Phil, It’s a well know fact that those most vehement in their derision of the LGBT community are terrified of their own closet predilections.

          • Wrong again rents. I made the comment because it’s obvious you are a” Degenerate”

          • I have some hope for America, Phil. I was attending my niece’s graduation from UCSB yetserday and when the lesbian Dean launched into her litany of attacks on Trump the graduating students booed!

          • Not suprising that a College Dean( someone well educated , but completely lacking in wisdom) would use the graduation ceremony to go off on Trump. I must admit, that is suprising, and gratifying that the grad students booed her for her ignorance and stupidity. Very encouraging Goux!

    • For those interested, rivals has a podcast up this am discussing Corral and his separation from USC.

    • I heard we are all over “Tom Tuttle from Tacoma”. Almost a lock. Bad 40 time but decent arm.

  2. I got this, Wolfe.

What you are trying to say is that he left us, we didn’t leave him.

No evidence otherwise. Especially since evidence shows no offers until after the fact. A big mafoozle.

    • You, and wolf, have nothing. That opinion flies in the face of all other reports.

  3. Message to SW. The last thing the USC football staff needs is one iota of your input on recruiting tactics. Quit making a fool of yourself and stay in your own lane – you know…the narrow one that thinks we care about Utah lacrosse.

    • I’ll consign on that Jack B. SC could care less what a recruit they are dropping thinks. If they cared they wouldn’t be dropping in the first place.

      • The star-system and great arms only go so far.

SC had great chemistry last season. That won’t be the case with every team, but I’m glad to see CH is looking past the pure numbers – which will keep him away from some of the errors Sark and the Kiffer might have made.

I’m glad SC dropped Corral. Will be very interesting to see how this major decision affects the rest of the class, but one thing is clear. This staff has a plan about the type of guys it wants, which is a very good sign.

        • Didn’t we just have a 5* leave this year, didn’t hurt us then either. You’re right about the class effect though, interested in seeing who steps up as leaders, and lead the recruiting effort.

    • The guy has had 3 separate incidents in past year. My guess is this guy will never play a meaningful down of football at the next level

      • He’s had more than just the incident with Gretzke’s son. I can’t believe Oak Christian would dump one of the best QB’s in the nation over one minor incident. There must have been multiple incidents.

          • Timing is right, whatever it was, must’ve been stupid. Seems this kid had issues, I’m hoping he works it out. Must be the worst week of a kids life. Losing a full ride to your dream school, being the face of SC Football, and all that brings. Maybe he needed this wake up call.

          • It’s hard to say what happened but I really don’t think that he dropped SC. I think that SC dropped him. I’ve seen this kid play. He has great potential but there is something about this kid that SC doesn’t like.

    • “Something” happened USC challenged Corral on it and he bolted. This kids is a walking time bomb. Run don’t walk away.

  4. seems like the rooster is coming home to the chickens, but usc doesnt want to realize this, smdh!

    • Hey Bobble-Head Ed. Sorry Rosen didn’t work out for you. You should go after Corral hard now because you’ll need another frosh QB starter to keep you little gutties running smoothly at the bottom. You are the mighty bruins of course! Hah, hah, hah. Wimps of the West!

      • He posts the same type of comments on the ruination blog too, what’s his story?

  5. Boo Hoo! You dummies have lost Matt Corral and now hoping for UTAH’s sloppy seconds.

According to sources, Helton was on top of the Vincent Thomas Bridge on the phone with Ricky Towns begging him to transfer back!

    P.S. Ricky said no!

    • You’re right again. Here we sit saddled with Darnold and Helton, while you guys got mora and rosen. Woe to us. What a piece. Really. Maybe you’ll have your first three game win streak this year since when? Hell, I can’t even remember, can you?

And I don’t care what lavar says about your balls, they stink.

  6. It’s hard to say what happened but I really don’t think that he dropped SC. I can’t prove this but I think that SC dropped him. I’ve seen this kid play. He has great potential but there is something about this kid that SC doesn’t like.

  7. Contentment is a good choice, it comes from the word content, something substantial inside of a person…so the article seems to state SC may have no problem losing this q/b,and it may be mutual?
