  1. Where is John Vella on the list? He won a Super Bowl and protected Lamonica, Blanda, and the snake.

      • Both of you went to Notre Dame High in the valley. I went to Loyola, but I guess we can still be friends. LOL. I had a boss that went to nd high. He was a jerk. Were you there when Garry Lewis was there?

        • Tim Foli was also in the same class (’68) – he had a scholarship offer for QB at USC but MLB made him the # 1 draft pick that year – Mets.

Don’t know ‘Garry Lewis’ – commuted from the westside over the pass – the 405 had been punched through in early 63′. NO air conditioning for 4 years. best thing my parents ever did – I had no allusions about the ‘valley’ – couldn’t wait to get out of there and the ‘heat’.

The ‘all boys’ 1968 was largest graduating class they ever had. Corvalis went under in the early 80’s and that’s when it went co-ed.

          • Garry Lewis is Jerry Lewis’ son. He might have been there earlier than you. He had a few songs that made it big back in the 60’s. Some good baseball players came from there. Some good fb players as well. We played against Cerinco (sp), who I think went to Stanford. He was a stud lber for nd high.

          • Oh yeah – he had that rock group ‘Garry and the Playboys’ ‘This Diamond Ring’ back in late 1964 I recall. Yeah Jerry had the kids baptized Catholic as his wife was as well. He was probably there same time as Terry Donahue.

          • You should have gone to Loyola. You could always tell it was 3 P.M. with the ocean breeze coming in. It would hit exactly at 3:05 P.M.

          • No argument there – wish I had – my ma didn’t trust Jesuits. I did go there 1 summer – had a guy they called ‘The Chief’ Mr. Valenti – good guy and a big son of a gun.

    • I’ll never forget Vella leading the charge for USC against ND in the muddy 38-28 win vs the irish at the Coliseum in 1970. He was our official enforcer. Theisman was nearly unstoppable, but it was a fantastic USC victory that was celebrated long into the night!

  2. Congrats to bozo u, 4 former O/tackles in the top 20. That # should fuel Rah-Rah FB fantasies four the next 12 months.

My question is how will the Rah-Rahs explain that all four are ranked behind Mr. J. Ogden, who, with all due respect to Jim Parker, is the real #1 NFL tackle.

    • The only thing that seperates Ogden from the others is the team he played on.

Anthony Munoz was and is by far the best OL player to play in the NFL..

With that said, Ucla still stinks!
