USC made the final 7 list of schools for four-star wide receiver Chase Cota of Medford, Ore. Cota is looking at Alabama, Cal, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA and USC. I’m sure he is talented but the point again is, how many wide receivers does USC need?
Or is this a tacit admission the group brought in two years might not have as many impact players as originally hoped?
SW, Your final comment may have merit. I hope not.
Many of these kids are two way athletes.. How about special teams.. Regardless of what is happening the more the better.. Also FYI, we are loading up due to others (WRs) graduating!
Seems like the WR position might be important & considered valuable. USC has 11 on their roster; FSU 10; OSU 12; ALA 16 & Clemson 17.
This guy⬆️(the blogger) actually thinks this is a scoop.
the writer is so right cuz a kid saying he may want to go to usc for scool is the same as usc admiting that the receivers they alredy got are no good,
Just like Ucla with no qb .. Has not had one since Troy Aikman..
….and he (Aikman) never beat USC!
Hundley was decent for them.
Lol.. Ok maybe.. But nothing of an nfl career . #clipboardholder
Hope all is well 22 .. ✌
Thanks! Hope you have a great summer.
Same to you.. Looking forward to football season.. Cheers!
Name one QB not named Brady who would play ahead of Aaron Rodgers
3-0 versus Clown College. McNown was 4-0. Tommy Maddox had a better NFL career than Lienart, Booty, Barkley, etc.
Cade Mcknown was no slouch. I think Rosen is excellent.
As we all know, a verbal commitment in June is about as good as not being voted off the island on the first night of the Bachelorette. Who really cares.
My opinion is you always recruit for position depth and try to get best talent you can for present and future success. Not every year you can find talented receivers. This year for USC the O-line and D-line depth is looking pretty good. It’s awesome to see USC addressing the Linebackers position in these last two recruiting cycles which depth and talent is needed ✌
Let’s see how important quarterbacks and receivers are compared to running backs: In the NFL the ratio is about 250 yards passing to 75 running.
In college the ratio is about 275 to 125.
So that means the split ends make up about 3/4 of the offense in modern football games.
Sounds as if you can’t try out enough split ends to see who can do the job.
USC coaches have a very defined recruiting plan which has to be part pure numbers, part needs, part smarts, part wishful thinking, part crystal ball and patience as well as part adjustment on-the-fly.
Glad we have some really experienced, smart guys in charge.
Don’t worry about football news Wolf. We all want to know what the Ball’s are doing?
