No Surprise That USC Adds Another Wide Receiver Commitment

USC received a commitment yesterday from Paraclete wide receiver Andre Hunt, a three-star prospect who was also offered by UCLA, Utah and Colorado. If there is one thing you can count on, it’s the constant flow of wide receivers committing to USC. I’m not sure there is a crying need for a commitment from a receiver now when there are so many young receivers on the USC roster.

Besides, USC is expected to get the No. 5-ranked receiver (Jalen Hall of Long Beach Poly) and could also land the nation’s No. 1-ranked receiver (Amon-Ra St. Brown of Mater Dei). But USC rarely met a receiver it didn’t like in the past two years of recruiting.

  1. This post just shows how “outside” Wolf is when it comes to USC recruiting.

  2. Well, he’s our first WR in this class and coach Tee said he really impressed them at camp with his speed and size, and he’s a 4-star according to Scout. Since you can have up to 4 receivers on the field, taking 3 in each class seems very reasonable to me especially when you spent most of the Spring practice lamenting on our lack of quality receivers (supposedly).

  3. Well, if USC weren’t so fond of WRs, they would never have blue-shirted Deontay Burnett, and we likely would have lost the Rose Bowl in January. Take that for data….

  4. I’m very glad that this USC staff doesn’t engage in paint-by-numbers recruiting. We have some very good evaluators as well as closers.

This team has got a lot of talent and the coaches are building on that with prospects who have directly impressed them in USC camps, which should clearly take precedent over any star-rankings, which are often wildly variant.

  5. but theyre is no one to throw them the ball cuz of the john corral fall down the writer mentioned before, its like these kids dont realize that usc cant recurit a qb and got no real history with qbs, u cant make this up, they would all be smart to go to ucla where john rosen is latest in line of great qbs, smdh!

  6. For the first time in 8 years I agree with you. And if we have to pull the scholie or ask Hunt to look around, then we creat space for a better receiver. Cynical approach, but I see this tactic commonly.

  7. Unless those receivers just want a USC degree, then half of them better realize they won’t see anything but garbage time on the field

  8. They may get Jalen Hall but I’m not sure why they think that they are going to get Amon-Ra. I think that he’ll go somewhere else. I think that he wants to play early.

  9. winning teams recruit OL and DL…. the skill players are nice…but games are won on the number of seconds that a qb gets to throw…
