O.J. Simpson’s been in the news a lot the past year. And that is always a reminder that Marcus Allen’s been very low profile since last year’s ESPN documentary. According to several former USC players, Allen moved from Southern California to St. Louis to escape the spotlight after he was portrayed in an unflattering light in the documentary. One former player who spoke to Allen told me he loves the privacy afforded him in St. Louis. Allen did not even show up at the USC game last year when his bobblehead was given out.
The last time I remember him at USC was at a spring practice in 2016, when a lot of former players were invited. But Allen and Simpson childhood friend, Al Cowlings, lept their distance.
The question is: Who had the longer leap?
I’m going with Marcus on the leap but I’m sure it was an intense battle…
Message to Scott:
Every time I go to your site—regardless of which article I click on — I hear ongoing audio from LawNewz Network —-apparently the live O.J. parole hearing coverage has shifted to a contract killing case. Will this be a new feature of Inside USC?

may be the maled him a bobble head, its a long way to travel to try to get one especialy when they some times run out of them and then u go home with no thing
Wasn’t he at the Rose Bowl celebrating with fellow Trojans after the game? Wrong again Wolfie!
Don’t know about Allen at USC but last Fall around October he had a long conversation on the PMS show and it was a good one as he related the gain a running back brings the offensive line of the team.
Allen stated the front line loves a strong running back because that back forces the defense constantly to react to his presence and it keeps them falling backward as the offense advances.
He concluded with what would USC look like with a qb such as Darnhold and an above average running back?
Invincible
Allen belongs in St. Louis.
“kept” their distance.
