There’s been no sign of kicker Matt Boermeester since January. Now, finally, USC has addressed his status: “Placekicker Matt Boermeester, whose 18 field goals last year—including a 46-yarder at the gun to win the Rose Bowl— were 1 shy of the school record, won’t return because of a student code of conduct issue.”

    • There is no proven replacement —and you’re right: this is a big loss. It changes offensive strategy inside the 30 yd. line.

  2. It is not unexpected, but USC needs to be extra vigilant with these issues. He is a good kicker I hope he lands with a pro team…unless he’s graduated and can transfer somewhere (sorry trolls I stole your joke)

      • All I can find is an uncorroberated story about an ex girlfriend. The school is keeping close to the best.

      • No, entered as a freshman scholarship player, his daddy was a ruin, I believe. I think he would be a rs sophomore.

    There’s ‘capper’ still working hard on the Coliseum….his legacy “Hey except for that Mayr mess…oh well max has my back ha cha cha cha cha cha!”

    • I’m confused – did Pat hold the girl down or was he a look-out during the broken code of conduct?

    • Deadspin reported back in February that the USC football player had an alleged incident with an ex-girlfriend.

      • it’s his current girlfriend, and she says the “abuse” never happened. USC admins tried to tell her that she essentially has stockholm syndrome

      • Mister Beefcake won’t be around that week, Sam—-or the month afterwards.

          • The scary thing: Mora REALLY IS going to go into the USC game with a losing record —–meaning he’s gonna have nothing to lose. Add to that Mora’s penchant for taking cheap shots at opposing quarterbacks, and I think we should be ready for a real dirty game.

          • He’s wishing he had more self control and those words had never come out of his mouth. That’s for sure!

          • If I were Mora, I’d be embarrassed to scream “our town now!” after victories over an SC team that was on sanctions just short of the death penalty. Sort of like Larry Holmes saying recently he was “best ever” because he beat Ali (who was, by that time, handicapped).

        • They all keep saying they can’t wait for December, like the season can’t end quick enough..

          • By November 18th, the Bruins will be looking to end their season and start over with a new coach in 2018 —– we will need to help them achieve those goals . It will be an act of mercy.

  8. Did any of you notice that the PAC 12 CG is on Dec. 1. That’s a Friday. Which means, should we be so lucky, that we’ll have a bye week and our opponent will be working a short week of game prep.

    • I just noticed your comment, Pudly. Are you sure the Championship is set for Friday? I heard that BOTH Dec 1st AND Dec 2nd were being held open at Levi Stadium for the Pac 12 CG. (Let’s hope they go with Dec 1st—-Washington will come in on short week after playing a very solid Washington State team).

          Not only is Washington coming off Washington State, but Stanford is coming off Notre Dame!

          • Especially, since we have two weeks extra. The scrimmage with the ruins should be glorified walk through for the championship game.

          • The Bruins aren’t in our league this year —but rivalry games can get weird. A certain amount of adrenaline is gonna necessarily get expended on November 18th —and it’s fortunate we don’t have to get pumped up for the championship game the following weekend. It’s hard for teams to stay jacked up for two weekends in a row (and that’s what worries me a little bit about the Stanford and Texas games).

  11. lesson, never while at sc ,have a girl friend…you are ALWAYS wrong, she is always correct…emotional rules over all facts,logic…or if football and girl friend important, choose any other program
